Onilwe Resort Weligama

I stayed at Onilwe Resort Weligama for three nights and enjoyed every second! Although the hotel is not directly on the beach, it is immersed in a quiet, green and peaceful area only about 10-15 minutes to the sea by walk, or a few minutes by tuktuk or bike. The rooms are simple but elegant and recently renovated, air conditioned, and the beds very comfortable. The breakfast, which you can chose to have as continental or srilankan, is delicious and one of the best I have had. Laundry washing and drying service is available to guests within same day. Wifi connection is stable and fast, and both the rooms and common areas are equipped with a table in case you need to work. There is the possibility to rent a bike. Finally, but not for importance, the host is really a lovely and kind person: very kind and helpful, but also always never pressuring and very discrete. If in Weligama, I would book here again.

I stayed here in low season. The owner could not do enough for me. The room are on suite and have full A/C and the opition to hang mosquitio net. This building is only built in the 5 years and so is modern and new and clean.The wifi is good .The owner has also lived abroad and understands the needs of travelers. It place is relatively close to town but in quite area.If your a couple or solo traveler it prefect place to stay. The owner also is in the know to set you up with a scooter and other needs. like every where in Sri lanka owners of accomadatons are struglling so fixuture and fitting can seem tiny bit broken. Also you need remember there was importation ban by the goverment so it hard to replace things if they get damaged. In my view this place is value for money . There nothing i did not like.

The owner was super friendly and very nice. We could also do our laundry here directly at the washing machine of the accomodation. Air conditioning was working properly.

Maybe it's because we got here in the off-season but the room was not clean at all. We have been to several Sri Lankan hotels at similar price ranges but this one was definitely different. We had the feeling that the bathroom was also not fully finished or at least needs a renovation as soon as possible. The worst part was, though, that a new level is being built on top of the building. The construction worker started before 8 in morning so we had absolutely no chance to sleep in after a long travel.

The place itself is really nice, green, quiet. The room was equipped with a desk, a kettle and a hair dryer. There was a minor inconvenience caused by the construction works upstairs and I asked to change my room for it was impossible to sleep with that noise. The host agreed and gave a room downstairs which was even better.

The host of the homestay was very friendly, and the entire check-in process went smoothly. The facilities in the room were excellent!

Beautiful, clean rooms with comfortable beds, hot water shower, and cold AC. Friendly and helpful staff and delicious breakfast. I would recommend.
