Beta's Place

The room is large and well equipped. Despite situated on the main road, it is very quiet. Very nice furnitured roof terrace and 2-3min walking distance to the beach. All kind of stores and a pharmacy around. Breakfast served in wonderful sea view restaurant. All amenities arranged in a good style. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. We had such an amazing stay in Beta's place - the room is large and very comfortable with a balcony and a big bathroom outside. We were working from there so the fast Wi-Fi was greatly appreciated, as well as the rooftop which we used plenty of time. Breakfast was in another property of Beta's with a nice view and was quite good.

The pillows were the only thing we didn't enjoy but it is not a deal-breaker in any way

Good value for money. Just short walk from both beaches. Pleasant host and really comfortable bed and great shower and bathroom. Overall highly recommend as was a great place and great value with supermarket just down stairs.

Large room, nice facilities, easy 5 minutes walk to the beach, supermarket located right below for any essentials. Happily would go back if in the area.

Aww where to start?! We booked Beta's Place as a treat for Christmas as it was way over our budget, but it was not just worth it, it was the best decision we could have made. The place not just met, but exceeded our expectations. The spacious and cool room looked exactly just like on the pictures and can tell it was freshly painted. Everything is super clean, lovely spacious bathroom outside that you can walk via the balcony. Big, super comfortable beds, I perhaps would change the pillows as they are too big/ thick to sleep on it. The interior and every little details about the room were just spot on. We also had a tuk tuk taken us over to the host's other property overlooking the ocean, called Sea View Clay House Hiriketiya to have breakfast...and now the best part, yes, the breakfast. Myself is a real foodie and having the best breakfast with ocean views is a dream. You can choose from a large breakfast menu including several types of eggs, steamed vegetables, avocado, bacon, sausage, pancake, waffles, porridge etc, also fresh fruit juice with coffee or tea. After all they even offered curd with honey, it was amazing. Beta, the owner is the most attentive person I've met during our trips. He does his best to make a personal contact with you, engage into a conversation and leave a good impression. Thank you so much for everything, we would happily return in the future and highly recommend the place. Also location is perfect, few minutes walk from both Dickwella beach and Hiriketiya.

This place was an incredible find in Sri Lanka. The rooms are big, comfortable, modern and fully equipped, and very quiet too despite being close to the main road. The breakfast is simply incredible, huge portions and super yummy food options. Beta has by far been our best stay in Sri Lanka. Such good value for the price! Highly recommended!

Nothing, we loved it!

I would like to say the owner is amazing, the places is in impeccable condition and the rooms were extremely clean and modern. It had a desk and the wifi was good (however upload speed could be improved if you’re a digital nomad)

I absolutely struggled to sleep, the pillows are huge and firm and I don’t understand how anyone could find them comfortable, a suggestion would be to have various kinds of pillows in case someone needs something different, they were all the same. I told the owner I wanted to stay for 3 night and I would let him know in the morning after the 1st night, however they allowed a booking to be taken from behind my back and then tried to offer me a smaller room or a hotel down the road which cost 50% more.
