Beta's Place

I thought it was fantastic. Great accomodation, close to the beach, close to wonderful cultural plcaces and the host is really too. Also loved the airconditioning haha. I could not ask for more.

We had such a fantastic time at Beta's Place that we decided to extend our stay for two more nights. The room was spacious, new, and spotlessly clean with air conditioning and a private bathroom. For breakfast, we were picked up by tuktuk and taken to a beautiful location with stunning sea views. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of options and generous portions. A special thanks to Pramith, who made us feel right at home and helped us with everything we needed. He is a truly special and unique person. Thank you for everything, Pramith! This is one of the best places I've stayed in Sri Lanka. I highly recommend it!

I had arrived in the morning & only had to wait 15 minutes before checking in to my room. Reception was located on the 2nd floor (top floor) via stairs. My room was on the 1st floor. My room was clean & modern looking. There was a wardrobe. The aircon, ceiling fan & fridge worked fine. The bed had clean linens & provided a comfortable sleep. Lighting was good. The bathroom, I believe, was the result of a poor floorplan. To get to the bathroom I had to exit the main room then walk along the balcony to access the bathroom. No big deal. The bathroom was a wet room but big ehough not to wet the whole floor. The shower had hot water & good pressure. Be aware that if you have breakfast a free tuk tuk will take you to another hotel & return you to Beta's afterward. You only find out about this arrangement upon check in.

As soon as I entered my room I asked is the TV in working order. I was told no. I said I want a room with a working TV as that was what I booked. I was told all TVs had been disconnected. I had made my booking on 26/9/23 & no attempt had been made to inform me that no TVs would be working during my stay in March 2024. Of course my final date for free cancellation had passed. No offer of compensation was made hence my booking made in good faith was dishonoured. Also, to sit at the desk provided & use my phone while recharging I had to unplug the fridge to access a power point. Minute size ants running over the desk was also annoying. It was not possible to lock the door to the balcony. I checked out feeling aggrieved.

So happy we choose this place to stay at. We booked 3 days, and ended up staying 10 nights. Perfect location, near everything. Super close to food city, restaurants and beaches. Very clean and nice rooms. Pramit, the staff, was amazing. So helpful and kind. Also, the owner was very helpful and available. We had delicious breakfast at "sea view clay house" every morning. And they even took us there by tuktuk for free🙏 We also had dinner there, and where so satisfied. Beautiful view, lovely staff and tasty dinner! We are def. coming back!! For NewYear they fixed traditional sweets & breakfast for all the guest. Such a lovely gesture. Thank you for our 10 days in Dikwella.

The best stay during our holiday in 60 days. Clean and very spacious, and very good value for your money. Our host, Pramit, made it very comfortabel during our stay, we stayed 6 night and we're missing Dikwella already.

Great room with the nice added touch of a sink and fridge in there. All very clean and modern.

The rooms have glass fronts/doors, they are covered by curtains but there are a few gaps so people could look in, although there are only 3 rooms so not like lots of footfall past your door all the time. Does take a short walk to get to the more popular restaurants and bars at Hiriketya but not too much of a problem!

We loved our one week stay at Beta’s Place and were sad to leave. The hotel has three rooms so it’s lovely and quiet. The rooms are new, modern, clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. We appreciated having air con and a ceiling fan. We both worked remotely from the room and the wifi was reliable. The location is great as it’s very close to Dikwella beach which was our favourite beach in the area. Also close to several restaurants and there is a shop below the hotel. Breakfast is provided at a sister hotel which has an incredible view overlooking the ocean. The breakfasts are amazing and the staff are very friendly. Special shout out to Bramit who is always available at Beta’s Place should you need help with anything or a free tuk tuk arranging to go to and from breakfast. You won’t find a better place to stay in Dikwella!

Betas place was our favorite stay in Sri Lanka! The room was spacious, comfortable, hot water, great wifi, excellent AC, and super close to the beach. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The upstairs area was great for a work video call. The breakfast located at a different restaurant was picturesque and tasty. Highly recommend, we would definitely return and wish we stayed longer!
