Luvi Lucas River Side

Everything! we booked one night and liked it so much stayed 3. All the family were so helpful and welcoming, helping us arrange transport and cooking delicious breakfasts! Answering all our queries and super responsive. We had a large, cool, spacious, family room with a terrace overlooking the river. the aircon worked really well and we also had a fan. the beds were large and comfy, the bathroom was also large and everything was spotlessly clean. it was really peaceful having breakfast on the floating platform, lots of interesting nature to see as well daily life going by on the nearby road. Thank you to Ravindu and all the family for a brilliant stay!

The location was so nice and quiet, away from all the noise of Weligama town but still close enough to get to it if you want to go to restaurants and bars. What sets this place apart is definitely the owners, a Sri Lankan family with true Sri Lankan hospitality at the heart. The Mum, dad and son who run this place are so kind and welcoming. The food is done if the best I’ve had in over 2 months in Sri Lanka besides my own family (I am half Sri Lankan!) so be sure to choose the “Sri Lankan breakfast” option in the mornings. This place is a real, authentic gem in the south coast.

Ravindu's family are the best hosts. This place with a soul. We had amazing breakfast and had a choice between different types (local, western, bowl). Breakfast serves on the platform that is on the river with a perfect view. Monkey, birds, nature are everywhere in the garden. Each room with big terrace. We met new friends and had a great barbecue, that Ravindu cooked. Internet wi-fi is stable and its was enough for work (video conferences). Ravindu helped us a lot, thanks him, with taxi, rent motorbike and even with car rent to go to Ella and other things. You can also buy coconut right there for normal price. And after they can cut it for white pieces that inside. We stayed in this place everytime when we returned back to Weligama and it was the best choice. The location is good to beach 7 min, and close to supermarket and fruits point. Fridge is not in every room, but you can use main big fridge on the first floor.

All was good, if we had problems, Ravindu helped us to solve them. My friend had a problem with ear, insurance doctor didnt help good. Ravindu recommended another one, who solve the problem and cleaned ear.

Luvi Lucas is in the most beautiful & amazing setting next to the river. The photos dont do it enough justice. You even have monkeys swinging through the trees next to your balcony, 2 very cheeky dogs and lots of other wildlife coming ang going from this perfect river setting. There is a floating dining area as well. The place is everything that you could ask for. The hosts are really really friendly and they cannot do enough to help you. Lovely people!!! Its a 2 minute walk to the beach and a 5-10 minute walk or 2 mins on a scooter (hired at the apartment for £3.50 a day) to the town. Restaurants are within walking distance for the evening or you can eat at the apartment. There is nothing at all to fault Luvi Lucas. Perfect!!!

This has been one of the best guesthouses we have stayed in over the last 1.5 months in Sri Lanka. The room is really spacious, and also has a big bathroom and a terrace which faces directly onto a really nice garden and with a view of the river. The family that run it are absolutely lovely - kind, friendly and genuine. We loved the breakfasts. There are three options but we always chose the smoothie bowl option with banana + papaya or banana + pineapple smoothie, as it was a delicious and healthy way to start our day. We also had veg curry for lunch, which was very tasty and good value. We hope we'll be able to come back here, as we felt totally at home.
