Dhangethi INN

We loved every moment of our stay ! Everything has already been said in the previous comments, Tholal made the stay very special. We will never forget our 5 days in the Maldives, it was incredible. The island is beautiful, and Tholal's excursions are really worth it. One advice: bring good sunscreen, (waterproof and that is not dangerous for the corals) because the sun hits hard, and you will spend hours in the beautiful cristal clear water. Also Tholal answered many questions before our stay and was very helpful with planning our trip.

i really like this place! the owner Tholal was very friendly and helpful, we did a lovely Manta Ray Trip. Rooms are big, clean and got everything you need.. there is a small kitchen too so you could prepare something yourself also if you like.. Breakfast was good and in a lovely spot at the Water.. definitely coming back!

Dhangethi Inn: 4 basic clean rooms with private WC, TV, hot shower and a king-size double bed. Everything worked well (AC, TV, WC, shower, kettle, free WIFI,...). 24 h access to a fully (!!!) equipped shared kitchen. If breakfast is included or if you'll book it by Dhangethi Inn, it will be served at the cooperating "Blue Moon" restaurant. Blue Moon: Distance to Dhangethi Inn appr. 50 m / Distance of the breakfast table to the sea: 2 m / Enjoy your breakfast with a magnificent view on a turquoise sea. Transfer: Recommended: By speedboat from/to Male Airport organized by the Dhangethi Inn. 2-3 hours transfer time (depends on the weather) / 45 USD per person (March 2023). You'll pay it to the Dhangethi Inn. Host of the Dhangethi Inn: The Dhangethi Inn is just a building.The soul of this building is THOLAL (the owner).A Maldivian Superman! He settled up a personal communication-line via WhatsApp to him (24 h). He fulfilled all our wishes immediatly!!!I like his humor and his surprises. 1st suprise: A free half-day-trip to a sandbank where you can see rays, sharks, turtels, and the ordinary fishes or coralls. 2nd suprise: Tholal invited us for a "Good-Buy-Dinner" together with the lovely guests Ronja and Onue. Marine Life: There is no direct (safe) access from the shore of Dhangethi to the outer side of the surrounding reef. There is a permanently drift from NORTH to SOUTH both on the west side (appr. 0,5 km/h) and the east side (appr. 1 km/h) of Dhangethi (March 2023). Not dangerous - but be aware of this drift, especially when snorkeling/swimming with children. In front of the Bikini Beach is a nice Coral Garden with lots of its ordinary fishes and a cute young resident black-tip reefshark (length 1m) and an eagle-ray. Tholal offers various tours with his own boat (max.6 persons) for reasonable prices. We snorkeled with Whalesharks, Mantas and Dolphins. Tholal snorkeled with us - his GoPro Videos are for free.

It is a pleasant hotel with a family atmosphere. The owner Tholal is very friendly and makes sure the guests are satisfied. He is happy to advise, help, arrange speedboat transport between islands, organizes great trips at good prices, always goes the extra mile to make you very happy. On the last evening he invited us to dinner, he also gave us fish that we could cook in the kitchen and it was really delicious. What I really appreciate is that he films the trips on a GoPro camera and then provide you with free dive and trip records. This is absolutely amazing. We were very satisfied.

Extraordinary stay in Dhangethi ! Toto welcomed us with fresh coconut juices ❤️ Very large and very clean rooms. Breakfast included is taken at the best restaurant of the island with a fabulous view of the sea. Toto took us to many excursions (sandbank, manta, coral garden, whale sharks) and it was simply mesmerizing !! Toto is a great swimmer and really caring with his guests! I would litterally put my life in his hands! Really go you won't be disappointed !!!

Best stay in Maledives!! Tholal is a great host, had an absolute amazing time in his Guesthouse. He is always there, helps with everything. Had a tasty fish dinner cooked by his wife. Beautiful excursions with his boat. He showed me the island and explained all. Thank you so much for everything. Beautiful island and so friendly people. Would defenetly come again to stay there.

Close to the Beach and the host helps you with everything you need. You can get in Touch with other Travellers and snorkeling at the Bikini beach is wonderful.

The owner, Tholol, was incredible, very willing to help with anything and make things work for us. We really wanted him to take us to swim with the whale sharks and he made it happen, even tho it was a rainy day and then took us to see mantas and snorkeling too. He even dove with us and sent videos. His property is located by the pier and on the Main Street. Just a quick 8 min walk to bikini beach, which was so fun to snorkel in and beautiful at sunset.

The beds are hard but seems to be typical for the islands we stayed at and the speaker for the prayers are close by which brings an early wake up call but not their fault at all.

Tholal is an amazing host. Nothing is too much to ask and there are lots of facilities and services available. The kitchen, laundry machine, and snorkeling gear were all free to use. We can also really recommend Dhangethi as a hoiday destination The locals are all very friendly and the island provides many activities. It is probably one of the best places to book diving and whale spotting trips from!

Everything was perfect!

We had such a lovely stay on this beautiful island. Host: Tholal is the most hospitable host I’ve come across I think. He is always on hand to help and you can tell he really wants his guests to be happy! From being welcomed with a couple of coconuts and a couple of happy new year dhangethi inn t shirts to him inviting us for dinner on the last night. Thank you very much! The guesthouse: a fab location right on the “Main Street” with plenty of facilities… wifi, Netflix, a kitchen, bottles of drinking water, a washing machine, fins and snorkels etc. Great value for money and we were very comfortable - I wouldn’t have wanted to stay anywhere else! Excursions: tholal provides various excursions. We opted for the whale shark one. Whilst we were unlucky in being one of the more unusual times where you don’t see one, we still snorkelled with mantas and saw lots of dolphins. And tholal spent about five hours boating around trying his hardest to find whale sharks for us. We were on his small boat and there were only four of us, so compared to every other boat trip that was out herding around loads of people on board, it was great value for money. We were at a spot with about 4-5 mantas and we were the only ones there! The reviews about him being a great free diver are also true as well! The island: we loved the island itself… small and intimate, beautiful sandy lanes, and friendly people.
