Tranquil setting and nice pool

Our room was not as described (no pool view). The AC wasn’t working on arrival. We complained and were told it had been fixed. We came back to the room 4 hours later (at 11pm) and it was still broken. It then took 40mins for them to move us to a new room. We also had an issue with our shower. In general, staff were hard to locate and we couldn’t always get through to the manager via his mobile. The location is always a good 20min walk from the beach.

We stayed here last weekend when we had come for a gig at Kai Beach as usual! The place was definitely worth the price and included breakfast too! Breakfast was a hash brown, bread, eggs and a refreshing juice - totally worth the price. The staff was excellent and welcoming - there was the manager Uditha and 2 young gents, all were very nice and welcoming. Uditha even made some exceptions for us and made us feel at home. We’re definitely coming here again next weekend after our gig at Kai! 9/10 would recommend for a peaceful night out. The reason I’ve given the room 4/5 is because there was close to no natural light in the rooms, and I love natural light seeping inside the room!

Many rooms were available for last minute changes cause one of there rooms took ages to clean and be ready.

Pool wasn’t very clean. Rooms were not up to standards one room had broken mirror. Rooms weren’t ready when we arrived and we had to wait for over 1 hour to get 2 out of 5 rooms ready.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfasts (western and local). Quietness and tranquillity in a well-kept garden. Value for (y)our money.

During the 4 nights, we stayed on two occasions, dogs were barking in the night. In one night for about 2 hours between 1.00 and 3.00 a.m.

The room, the location, the pool, all good. Special praise for the gardener - everything is well tended.

There’s something about this place which makes you feel you have just missed some sort of ‘incident’ that everyone is recovering from. Essentially there’s nothing wrong here but it’s devoid of any atmosphere or attention to detail. The booking details and the ‘board’ tell you lunch and dinner are available- but you would never know it - there’s no staff presence in the kitchen at these times. Breakfast was weird. They don’t ask you what you want just bring you a juice, banana pancakes, a fried egg on a piece of toast - with butter and jam 🤔 where does that go? And if you don’t eat bananas or eggs where does that leave you? Second morning we thought we would nail it by just asking for toast…….which came with two fried eggs and butter and jam! no one seems to speak English (I do appreciate this is Sri Lanka and not London but after a month here I can assure you this is a bit of an anomaly) and the coffee? Well in Sri Lanka it is boiled and then filtered…….here we were given the same (not instant) coffee and a kettle at breakfast. 🤨 Do yourself a favour, skip breakfast and walk down to A42. More than two loungers at the pool would be nice.

Lovely quiet location. Enjoyed watching the monkeys and birds. Great view of nearby temple. Nice pool. The friendly, relaxed staff gives a chilled atmosphere.

Not many places to eat nearby but found a great little restaurant 10 minutes away - Chef Akila’s kitchen.
