Calm, cool, relaxed

Big room, the shower is amazing (warm and a lot of water), and the hosts are very friendly. The location is perfect for collectivos to Santa Elena or Tikal.

The kitchen is not very well equipped but it is perfectly fine for a couple of days :)

We enjoyed the garden setting of our room. Wifi was available but not super strong. No television and this seemed common for lodgings in the area. The property fronts on a busy road but this bank of rooms is quiet. The shower was on demand hot water and had good water pressure. Our hostess was friendly and helpful. There were lots of restaurants within an easy walk. Lots of collectivos pass by making it easy to head up to Tikal or off to Flores.

The beds were hard which didn't bother me but did make sleep uncomfortable for my husband. They have a large outdoor kitchen area which is not really set up for typical hostal use but does provide the option of instant coffee in the morning. We were not aware of this until our last night.

Very pleasant stay and people who run it. Big enclosed yard to park vehicles, spacious and clean rooms, well worthe the money!

The staff were really friendly and helpful. Free parking was on site and there was a kitchen available for use. The fans were sufficient and the beds were fairly comfortable.

Heads up, they only take cash. However they were willing to accept US dollars. The bathroom was not very clean, there were stains on the sheets and the whole place could use a dusting. Also I’m sure it wouldn’t usually be an issue in this small town, however we were there on Independence Day and the room isn’t soundproof at all so we could hear everything.

Lovely, simple and clean rooms with good hot water in the bathroom. This is a family fun business and the hostess was lovely. El Remate is a beautiful village with lots to see if you love nature.

It is very cheap, so some other things are not so important. The location is good, on the way to Tikal, not a lot of things to do, the lake is only good spot here. People are great and service is good.

Johana the owner was just the best!! She speaks very good English and was so helpful with giving us tips where to eat and helping us with booking our shuttles. Most helpful person in hospitality we met during our stay in Guatemala. The rooms are very basic but you get a bed and a shower and that’s all you need while also staying very much in low budget.

Located on the main road for collectivos and shuttle. Big triple bed room for one person. Outside kitchen.

The first night they forgot to clean my room,the floor was quite disgusting...but they fixed it the next day. The surrounding dogs barks all night long.
