Bala House

Bala house is just 1 mile from the main old town and a has a bus stop right outside with buses coming every 10 min to take you directly there. There is also option of walking (with tons of cool shops and restaurants on the way) and you’ll reach in 30 minutes. The rooms are quiet and fairly spacious considering the size and density of Edinburgh. The lady that checked us in is also so sweet and waited up for us late into the night.

The double bed was a bit snug for 2 people. Since there is so much extra space in the room, it could get an upgrade to a queen bed at least.

Location close to Edinburgh city centre and bus stop out the front. Room tidy and comfortable. Friendly owners.

Private Bathroom was upstairs from the room. Some noise through the floors from rooms above.

Handy location near to a main bus route to the city centre and Old Town, with only a short wait for buses. Room was clean and comfortable and staff were very helpful.

The TV has very poor signal so we couldn't watch anything in the evenings.

Great location for the local bus into Edinburgh city, but far enough away to be quieter.

It wasn't made clear that parking at the property was not guaranteed, which is OK at the weekends as there is plenty of non-restricted parking available nearby, but not during the week.

Clean housing, ideal for travelers who spend most of the time in the city center. Walkable distance to center, bus nearby. The hostess and her husband were lovely and accommodating.

Bala House is in a quiet and lovely area, just a few minutes from Edinburgh city centre. It’s about a 25-minute walk, but buses run all the time and are super convenient. The hosts were really welcoming and kind. The room had everything we needed and was nice and clean. Recommended!

It is a clean and tidy hotel. The staffs are cheerful and friendly. They help us for the early check-in based on the availability. Near to bus stop
