Fire alarm went off, and was poorly dealt with, no communication until we as guests rang. When someone did turn up, they didn’t speak to any of us whilst we waited outside in the cold, then even after they did stop the alarm and did the checks they didn’t tell us if it was ok to enter the building. It was only cos we saw him through the window doing nothing in the restaurant below that we knew it was safe to go back in. Very poor overall experience and won’t stay again

Could do with shower gel

Great location right on the seafront, the staff were lovely and showed me how to get in. You have to pick up the keys from the fish and chip shop counter. We ended up eating in the restaurant after check in and it was one of the best fish and chips I've had. Room was small but perfect for a night or two. There are lots of stairs and it goes get hot the higher you get but a minor inconvenience for a great value stay. I would defo book again!

TV didn't have many channels. The fridge turns off when you leave the room, because you need the key card for the lights/electrics etc. to work!

It's literally over a fish & chip shop, you pick up the key from the counter. Location very handy for visiting Hastings Old Town, a place that is awash with charm and also a lot of pubs, restaurants, kooky shops and many chippies.

It was pretty basic, but then it is a reasonably priced room over a shop, not the Savoy.

When we arrived at the property, we found drug paraphernalia in the bedside drawer which I have photos of. We contacted the owner and they offered us a smaller room with an exceptionally smaller bathroom. We declined and they offered to clean out the drawer the following morning. We also noticed that the coffee and milk had not been replenished from the previous stay. The bathroom door didn’t shut properly so had to be barricaded shut when somebody was using it. There was a strong smell of sewage coming from the bathroom and the sink didn’t drain of water. The room was at an angle so the door to the room would slam shut however, I do believe that the building is old. There was a faulty kettle that kept boiling randomly and then turning itself off and this was happening in the night. The blind in the bathroom did not obscure view from the property opposite so if you were on the toilet or in the shower people could see into the bathroom. There were stains on the bedsheets, which added to the worry that the room hadn’t been cleaned properly. I had negotiations with the contact that I had for the room and he did offer at one point a full refund however, having spoken to him today that has been retracted, and they have said that they are happy for me to leave a review even if it isn’t positive. Having stayed at many hotels at this price, I would definitely not recommend this as a good stay. I have never complained about a hotel before, but this was an absolute joke and I absolutely should have got a refund for the inconvenience. Hoping that I will get a change of heart from the owner and some kind of money back.
