The location

The room was not en suite, it was a down stairs shower and toilet that was squeezed under the stairs and was splashed with urine before any guests had arrived. The space was too small to be able to be used properly. I left early and we went to a friend’s house for a shower etc. There was a sizeable gap between the architrave and the wall resulting in possible lack of privacy.

Very quiet location, right by the sea and 5 minutes walk from the town's high street. The place was nice and relaxing to stay in and dog friendly with lots of grassy areas outside for snuffling. Graeme, the host, was very accomadating to us checking ourselves in, as we were arriving late. He gave clear instructions on where to park, where the keys would be and he left our room's door open and light on so it was obvious, even for our travel-wearied brains! Breakfast was laid back, help-yourself/continental style. The room itself had a nice, cheerful, seaside beach hut theme and views to the sea nearby. Altogether very enjoyable and easy-going. I'm sure we'll be back.

The view overlooking the Tyne and the location. Great seaside beach/prom for walking and cycling. Nice independent shops and cafes/restaurants in the area too. Quick access to Newcastle city centre on the Metro for Xmas shopping (even though my main purpose was it to be a cycling holiday on all 3 days) I found the owner very welcoming along with the locals in the area. Definitely recommended and would be happy to stay at the View again in the future.

The rain but that's what you would expect this time of year (November). Apart from that, it was just the 2 night break away I needed.
