A CLASS DISAPPOINTMENT. I was in this place from 9th Dec to 13th Dec paying a hefty amount (90,000/- per night) for the entire place for our family getaway but include nothing. We had to carry everything ourselves. The above rate doesn’t include even a coffee or a team. Not even a tissue paper. Pros - 1. Place is near the main area of the city 2. 7 rooms for a big family 3. All rooms with attached bathrooms Con’s - 1. For 4 nights, they don’t change the linen 2. No bathroom amenities are provided. Such as bath gel, shampoo, or conditioner. 3. No room cleaning. Though they cleaned our toilets one time after requesting several times, that also without any chemicals. Just using a Mop and a toilet brush 4. I was in the family room with 2 large beds. In that room, you have a bathtub that cannot use as there is no stopper in the bathtub 5. Pressure pumps switch off often to save electricity which translates to no Hot water at that time. 6. We switch ON the lights and “Thushara” who claims to be the OWNER, comes and switches them off all the time. 7. No wait staff 8. No proper cook (Sarath has left the place, unfortunately) 9. Current cook, doesn’t know how to do BBQ. We ended us doing our own BBQ. 10. We paid an additional 10,000/- per night for the cook and the helper (A total of 40,000/- just for the cook). Let me explain to you what they cooked. 1. 9th Dinner 2. 10th Breakfast & Dinner but helped by us 3. 11th Breakfast only. Though we called them to cook our lunch, they never pick up the phone. 4. 12th Breakfast & Dinner. Other meals were cooked by our family. 5. 13th Nothing. 6. Though you paid for the cook and the helper separately, you have to do your own tea. Clearing plates. Getting the drinking glasses. 1. TOTALLY INSANE RIGHT? USELESS COOK WITH NO TASTE BUDS. JUST IMAGINE A PERSON DON’T KNOW WHAT BBQ AND GARLIC BREAD IS. 11. Though they claimed that they are providing heaters for all the rooms, nothing is free. They charge 2250/- per night for it and don’t let us keep the heater ON. Asking us to switch it off all the time. 12. Door locks are broken. 13. Rooms are not cleaned at all. 14. There are 2 rooms, in which a normal person cannot take shower in. The shower head is only 5 1/2 feet tall. If you are taller than that, tuff luck my friend. 15. When we booked this place 3 months ago, Thushara claims that we can play cricket or any game on the ground in front of his business. Turnout to be all a lie. as that land was cordoned off by the landowner. 16. the Biggest joke is the karaoke system. it’s not a Karaoke system. It s a speaker with 2 mics. No screen to play songs or no streaming system. I was laughing my ass off. Ok. Let's face it. Let’s use what is available, Mics are not charged at all times. Though we told him that keeps the mics fully charged, they always failed to do that. On our last night, we had to run to Cargill's to grab a couple of 9V batteries for the Mics. We paid for it and Thushara not even bothered to ask or check with us. 17. They throw their garbage to the land next to them. The next day morning, all the stray dogs come and grab all the bags and stuff around the place. I am a hotelier and it’s so pathetic to see that so-called 3-star properties run this way in Sri Lanka. If the so-called property owners try to save every single penny that they get without providing good service or in other words, what they are supposed to provide, these places will run out of business very soon. Thushara, you should have stuck to your words or you should have guts to reduce the prices for all the failures that you had during our stay. The time is very close and your guest will slap you in the face. Please don’t repeat this to another person who is traveling to your place for a stay. ALL THE FOLKS OUT THERE, JUST AVOID THIS PLACE. OR BE READY TO GET DISAPPOINTED.

We stayed here one night. Staff were very attentive. Lovely cup of tea. Was asked what we would like for dinner, all made fresh. Breakfast was enough to feed a street. Room was gorgeous, we requested a twin room and got a massive super king size bed each. Central to the town.

We have spent 3 days at Windsor Residence @ Nuwara Eliya from 03rd July to 05th July 2020. It is a newly built lovely place to spend your holidays in hill country. I can assure that this could be a very different experience than any other hotel in Nuwara Eliya. This have 8 Super Luxury rooms & perfect for any family gathering. Karaoke facility provided by the hotel management was immortal. We all had lots of fun! We enjoyed variety of delicious meals, local & continental. This is situated at middle of the town surrounded by the beautiful mountains. Beauty & Accessibility both meet here! Guidance provided by hotel management to the Nuwara Eliya excursions were excellent. We have visited many places during our short stay. Visiting Strawberry farm was a novel experience to my 2 little daughters. Finally what I can say is, please visit the Windsor Residence & add some immortal memories to your sweet families.
