"Interesting - a taste of rural South Africa"

The owner is a character of note - goes out of his way to provide all needed. Simple, but excellent, meal cooked up for us on request.

It was really hot on the day and the room we had was not equipped with an aircon.

"The Purple House is a total winner!!!!"

We love staying with Johann Greeff & his lovely dog, Star, at the Purple House. Whenever we drive with family, dogs & friends to the East London area we stay with Johann. The accom is very comfortable, extremely dog friendly and Johann cooks great dinners & breakfasts for us. Highly recommended!!!!

"I great stay in a small town with small town hospitality!"

The meals prepared for me by Johann were excellent Mushroom risotto and rump steak for dinner hit the spot after driving for the afternoon, and then the breakfast was perfect (delicious omelet) to get me on the road again!

It was a value for money stay in a safe little town in the FS. I enjoyed all the quirky pieces of art that have been collected over time and my dog too! Nothing wrong!
