Rooiheuwel Cottage

Rooiheuwel is quite literally a slice of heaven. The Le Roux family are first class hosts. So welcoming, polite and friendly. The cottage is stunning with everything considered and accounted for, from overall decor and comfort to excellent facilities fully stocked with all the kit and equipment for self-care and self-catered dining indoors and outdoors. The cottage is set on a hilltop oasis with dramatic mountain views and offers a variety of activities on site, from walks around the farm, picnics and swims in the dam, to relaxing in the cool breeze under the trees in the garden. A tranquil bliss, highly recommended.

We spent 1 x night at Rooiheuwel Cottage and it was a prefect solution for us to relax after a hot day. The cottage is situated on a working farm, on the outskirts of Wellington, so the peace and quiet was most welcomed. We sat outside in a lovely area which had braai facilities and simply relaxed, listened to some music, had a few snacks and a ‘must do’ glass of wine. The cottage inside had 1 x large, double bed, 1 x 2 x singles bunk bed and another single bed offering 5 places to sleep. The bathroom, shower was fitted out nicely. There was no TV which almost seemed unnecessary and fits in with the venue and location. Anina was a great host, we had a very easy access and their cat was extremely friendly.

The accommodation was clean, spacious, and decorated to make you feel at home. Anina was very welcoming. The views are great! If you looking for a place near Wellington, this is it!

The view is amazing, so quiet and green! The host is extremely friendly and we felt right at home. Will definitely visit again. Also we are cat people and Mary, the cat, were so loveable.

The location was excellent and safe with an extraordinary view. It was quiet and peaceful. The host was friendly, accommodating, supportive and professional. The facility was clean and met all my expectations.
