Beautiful tranquil location.

The owner was w bit overbearing. We were the only 2 guests but she insisted on having dinner with us ….. and breakfast! This may have been a thing back in the day but we found it awkward to make conversation for the duration of the meal and again in the morning.

Wonderful setting in the mountains. Beautiful walks and a swimming dam. The room was fantastic- very spacious and comfortable. Food was excellent and Marie is a very gracious host. We just loved our time there and it will become one of our new favourite places

Peace and quietness with the Swartberge as background- away from technology- dinner with other guests at one table and Erica was vey interesting and entertaining- Food was very well prepared and delicious- with more than enough- Breakfast on the veranda was an experience- bird feeder in front of terrace and interaction between different types of birds and their song cheered up our day. Lovely pool to relax. We were looking for a Karoo experience under the stars and we got it

Road to The Retreat was a challenge- fortunately no flat tyres. Unfortunately- due to circumstances not able to meet Marie- apparently she is a legend. We wish her a complete recovery.

The food was good. We loved being in nature

The shower was a real real disappointment.

Dinner at long table with other guests risky as the guests could be strange.

A fantastic location nestled between the mountains in Kannaland. Peaceful, serene and a place where you can recharge.
