ARANI HOMESTAY

The room was very good and comfortable, and the location was perfect. The owner and family were friendly and welcoming. The overall atmosphere was peaceful and pleasant, making it a relaxing stay.

However, I was a bit disappointed with the breakfast. Based on previous reviews, I was expecting a more varied selection, but we were only served string hoppers with sambol and curry, banana, and tea. While I do not have any issue with the food itself, I had booked the room including breakfast at this price expecting a more reasonable variety, as indicated in previous reviews, including some form of protein option. In retrospect, I might have chosen a lower-priced room without breakfast, since there are many affordable food options available locally.

Highly recommended I had a wonderful stay here. The room was incredibly comfortable and clean. Every morning, they served a delicious breakfast that tasted like a proper home-cooked meal. The hosts/family were exceptionally warm, welcoming, and took great care of me throughout my stay. Plus, the location is perfect and very convenient. I would definitely stay here again

Everything!, spotless cleanvery welcoming and genuine, lovely garden. Comfy bed, good shower, dinner and breakfast incredible value and taste, home cook.

It was very central which was very nice. There was also place to park our tuktuk

The place wasnt really what we expected, the place had a lot of insects (ants, flies and a cockroach) and the wifi wasn’t great either. We were shocked with some of the prices that came at check out. We had dinner, a beer and laundry done (3800rupees!) and all of these things we could’ve done much cheaper in town. With that said, some of our clothing got back with bleach stains and the response wasn’t very well when we told them that.

Very welcoming family Arani home stay was perfect for our one night stay in Polonnaruwa. We were warmly welcomed by our host who were so helpful, getting us bikes to visit the ancient city (which is very close), they also accomodated us with early breakfast so we could catch our train the next day an sadeepa gave us a lift to the station on his Tuk Tuk Thanks again for everything!

I had such a wonderful stay at this guest house! 🌸 The hosts were incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to make me feel at home. Their hospitality and kindness made a real difference throughout my visit. They were always available to help and guided me with everything I needed. One of the best parts was how much effort they put into helping me explore the area. Thanks to them, I got to visit the beautiful ancient city and also enjoy the peaceful lakeside, which were unforgettable experiences. The recommendations and arrangements they provided were so thoughtful and made my trip smooth and enjoyable.
