te Whare -Lake Tarawera tree-top nest

Friendly hosts who gave us a warm welcome, amazing and stylish hand build interior with a nice log burner and wonderful views of Lake Tarawera.

Small lights along the stairways to the accommodation would have been a plus.

The view.

Completely run down, driveway overgrownand parking was almost impossible. Stairs to the unit were poorly maintained, no lighting at night and generally unsafe - not recommeded for elderly or children. Unit was dirty and facilities did not match what was advertised. Booked 2 nights but only stayed 1.

The view was spectacular, location great and the steps up were easier than expected. The owners were very friendly and helpful. I was very comfortable there and liked the design and layout of the "nest"

The driveway up from the road and parking. Although the driveway was steep and a bit tight it was wide enough for the SUV but having a smaller car would have been better. It was also difficult to find the driveway from the main road.

So unique, such great views and design. A magical place.

Super speciaal.treehouse gebouwd door eigenaar. Uitkijkend over Tarawera meer. Alles afgewerkt met hout. Terras is geweldig. Bed goed. Badkamer prima. Hosts super aardig. Veel wandelmogelijkheden. Met lange trappen naar boven (3e verdieping)

Geen kookgelegenheid. Wel ijskast en magnetron.

Het uitzicht is fantastisch.

Er waren een aantal zaken niet die wel aangegeven zijn p op de site: - geen bad - geen hot tub - geen extra wc - geen eettafel - geen koffie/thee. En dat is wel voor betaald gezien de prijs ivm andere verblijven. Het bed kan ook beter.

The location, the property and the history around how the property is significant of the heritage of the area was part of the amazing experience. Fred and Lamees were wonderful hosts who provided information and accommodated us which made the stay more memorable. The view from the room was beyond words and the closeness to nature made it an absolutely wonderful. Only thing to note is that the closest supermarket or dairy is in Rotorua and therefore it’s best to bring what you may need with you as you arrive. The hosts actually provide the essentials for breakfast too which was greatly appreciated!
