Thomasha Homestay & Tuk Tuk Tour

The beds were very comfortable and came with mosquito nets. The ceiling fan was a great help in the heat! The bathroom was very big and the shower was great too, though no hot water. The homestay is located away from the main town of Wellawaya, so it's very tranquil. The highlight of this homestay is the host, Thomasha, and his family. Thomasha was extremely helpful even before I arrived in Wellawaya, telling me which bus to take and where to get off. He drove me to and from the bus stop and always communicated to me clearly when he's available to help. He also cooked me a delicious traditional Sri Lankan dinner in his home and took me on a tour to Diyaluma Falls, showing me all the best places and giving me lots of space and time to enjoy the nature on my own, all for a very fair price. He's a kind and generous man. I stayed just one night, but I will always remember it fondly, recommend to friends who are passing through the area, and maybe go back one day myself.

My room was intended for two people and I think it would have been uncomfortably tight with one more person, but by myself it was perfect.

Family was wellcoming us like our own. Home made dinner were so delicious. Also we had an oportunity to spend time with his family and serve food for the monks in the temple. These memories we will never forget, this all experience was so so special. I reccomend to everybody who wants to spend chill time outside of touristic Ella.

One of the best stays in Sri Lanka! The room.was not too hot even during the day + very quiet for sleeping 😴 The location is good as you can easily access the waterfalls and the temple. Wifi was working. Bed + mosquito net. Everything great !

Tomasha is a wonderful host who enjoys spoiling his guests wherever he gets the chance. He picked me up for free at the bus stand, showed me around to buy food and drove me to the temple for a fair price. He has a very welcoming family and we got a delicious rice and curry for a good price. Very recommendable

Nice location away from the main road. Very friendly and helpful owner. Close to Diyaluma falls. Great laundry service for a nice price! 👌🏼 we had a nice dinner made by Thomasha’s wife, she is very funny speaking German 😁. We had a lovely stay here! 🙏🏼

Thomasha was so nice! He offered to get us dinner when we arrived late and surprised us by washing our tuk-tuk! Very comfortable place to stay if you are in Wellawaya.

Had a wonderful 2 days here. The owner and his family are wonderful. I was collected by the owner and taken to the house. In the afternoon, he took me to see the rock temple. The following day, to see 5 waterfalls (not the standard touristy ones) and a beautiful cave temple, at a very reasonable price. This is the place to stay, to see the real Sri Lanka

A bit far from town, but the bus stops outside. The owner arranged excellent local food, at local prices, in his brothers restaurant, so no complaints
