Their breakfast is excellent, well-cooked, and properly filling, with good choice and quality. The atmosphere at breakfast is relaxed and friendly, and the staff are consistently cheerful and welcoming, always taking the time to ask how you are and have a quick chat, which makes the place feel personal rather than transactional. The room was clean, comfortable, and well kept, with everything I needed for a short stay. The bed was very comfortable and the complementary tea/coffee with biscuits and a mini fridge was spot on.

Delicious breakfast , super friendly and helpful staff , even left a small carafe of sherry in the room as a welcome and nice little touches like fresh milk in the fridge rather than sachets .

Convenient location in the town. Loved the garden area and proximity to walks. Close proximity to church with very loud bell tower perhaps not so great but ear plugs were provided.

Bit cold in the bathroom but it was December after all.

Very pleasant, warm and friendly staff, comfortable well appointed good sized rooms, varied and well cooked breakfast 5 star!

The location is perfect, a lovely town with plenty to do. The hotel itself is great and the staff were brilliant, especially Jane who was exceptionally welcoming. I stayed for three nights over New Year and everything I needed was within walking distance. The rooms at the top of the house were wonderfully quiet, a nice contrast to the lively coffee house downstairs. I actually loved the buzz in the mornings, everyone chatting and starting their day. Breakfast was plentiful and really well cooked, a full English one day, eggs on toast with salmon the next, then an omelette, all delicious. Highly recommended, I will be returning.

In the afternoons my room, Dunbar, felt a little too cold even though the radiator was on. Jane kindly brought me a spare heater straight away, which sorted it out quickly.
