Amoryg Resort and Dive Raja Ampat

Resort was very peaceful, beautiful & remote, only a few guests while I was here. room was on the larger side with a nice sitting area that was within 10m of the beach. Diving was amazing... price was on the cheaper side, so overall I am glad I stayed here.

Food was only OK, not much variety and we had to request that they increase the amount of food they were serving and unlike other places I have stayed that were this remote (mainly liveaboard dive boats) there was always food to snack on between meals. last but not least the dive boat flipped over a few times (during a sudden windstorm) and we were unable to dive the next day and for the next few days did not have any cover from the sun.

Ok, so after much MUCH research, my fiancé and I choose Amoryg as our place to stay. It’s very conveniently located at the southwestern tip of Palau Mansuar island, which puts you way closer to all the dive/snorkeling sites than Kri Island. This peppery is 15 mins to Sawandarek town & diving Pier (the BEST pier dive of my life), and about 50 mins to Piaynemo (the BEST diving and snorkeling spot ever)! So yeah, location was great! NOT to mention that their house reef was INCREADIBLE for snorkeling with a great drop off should you also want to dive it. Vanny, the General Mngr was incredible and very helpful even prior to our stay at the property and once we were there, the entire staff was great! There are about 25 room-villas available, but they’re slowly re-opening the resort after COVID, so they’re not running at full capacity, which for us was GREAT! It felt like we had the whole resort to ourselves along with a few more couples. The meals are simple, but tasty (Indonesian), and Chef Glen will go out of his way to cook more items you love if you give him some suggestions/requests. Nikita, was also great, as guest services/housekeeping and for last, I leave Jeffrey - the house dive master! I am most grateful to him, since he was able to coax my fiancé into diving Sawandarek pier with me. It was her second ever time diving, and he was incredibly patient and wonderful with her. Because of Jefferey, I can say that my fiancé is more excited about diving than ever! I am leaving this honest review because Vanny & her team were exceptional. This is NOT a luxury resort, but if you’re looking to find great hospitality, in a key location in Raja Ampat, with a beautiful house reef and a very long walking beach, then this is the spot for you!

That it rained half the time we were there, since we visited at the end of the rainy season, but the dives and snorkeling were still phenomenal.

The location of the resort is perfect, just central for many boat trips for the neighbouring islands. The apartments are new and spacious

You are supposed to have WiFi connections all over the premises - except that the routers must be switched on, which is sometimes not the case. You are supposed to have hot water - except that the bolyler should be switched on, which is sometimes not the case. You could have different egg dishes for breakfast - except it takes time until you figure it out, as they do not tell you. Plus, some of the boat trips are really overpriced (compared to the prices of the neighbouring home stays).

Good conditions comparatively with home stay.
