The Victoria

Fantastic location, great value, and cool owners. I loved everything about The Victoria! The pub was a great spot to end the evening too!

No issues! While the room was small, it was exactly what I was paying for and expecting.

The staff, I mucked up my booking, they were happy to sort. They had problems, but they kept smiling. Grace under pressure. And a bear.

The bed. The power shower. The presence of a mini fridge. Easy room temperature settings.

Where I live there is no bathtub only a shower in our rented flat. So when we stay somewhere else I always seek out places with bathtubs, pack the bath salt, bubble bath, you name it. So, it was great disappointment that the room only had a shower. Apparently we should have requested it. The place tried to put the blame on Booking. Com but the advert placed by Victoria seemed to suggest that the room I am booking has a bathtub, or made it very clear that you need to send a separate request for it. We booked well ahead I could have done that if I knew. We arrived fairly late in the afternoon after a funeral and another couple has apparently checked in to the room with the bathtub so they weren't to be moved. The telly is not facing the bedhead, so watching telly from the bed was not a straightforward experience, to the letter. There was a complete lack of a full size mirror in the room, not sure why when there is a perfect place for it. The bed was decent and the shower at least powerful and slick to use. The noise from the pub does come up through the floor, so this needs to be considered.

Quick check in, comfortable room and value for money

No breakfast. Location ideal for my needs.
