Oaks Barn

Well appointed for the price, very clean and a good location. The provision of breakfast ingredients was a very welcome touch and the large flat screen TV with streaming made the stay all the more enjoyable. The outdoor spaces are nice and you can walk or run quite safely down the road.

The only thing was the lack of headroom. I’m only average height but I kept bashing my head on the sloping ceiling!

The sloping roof space needed navigating carefully! A cafetière would make it extra special.

The barn is beautifully appointed and immaculate. The owners were friendly and I terested in me (as a guest) without being too involved. This made the stay more "real". Food items for breakfast were supplied (eggs, cereal, bread for toast., yoghurt, butter, jam, etc, etc) , along with instructions on how to use the microwave to cook the eggs (fresh from their chickens). I needed to clean a hire car in preparation to returning it - the owners went out of their way to help me with this, lending me a vacuum cleaner as well as the gear required to wash the car. Amazing.!!!! The location is extremely quiet yet not at all remotr - not on a major road but not a long way away from larger towns, and it was easy to find. The bed was extremely comfortable and the shower was amazing!!! The farm animals (goats and chickens) that I could "visit" were an added bonus.

The kitchenette was just that, so preparing a simple meal for dinner was a challenge (but not impossible). Foe a typical weekend away, where going out for dinner is a probable scenario, this wouldn't be an issue.

It was a beautiful and quiet stay. I was welcomed by the host and had a fantastic stay. I would definitely stay here again.

Oaks Barn is perfectly situated to explore all surrounding areas. Super comfortable bed and a good sized shower with instant hot water. Great to be able to park right next to the barn. Nice selection of items for a self making breakfast including fresh eggs from the resident chickens. There is a handy little fold away table and chairs for eating from or playing cards on. Oaks Barn is perfect for watching red kites and other birds/rabbits etc. Petting the resident goats also a must.

Beautiful accommodation in a perfect location. Hosts are lovely. So welcoming and kind. Will definitely be visiting again
