"One of the nicest places we have ever stayed....."

10.0

This is an excellent property, Laura has thought of all the little details that add to comfort while you are away recharging your batteries. Only a small amount of country lanes bring you to the property (following the directions you will be given by the host) and you are very centrally locating for the South Hams area. We are definately planning on returning.

Nothing at all, everything was excellently done. I suppose you do need to remember that you are staying on a farm, but really the farming noise was so minimal that I really can't see it being a problem.

"Great stay in Devon"

10.0

The reviews on here are all true. The cottage was comfortable, warm, spacious, sparklingly clean and excellently equipped. The bed was super comfy. We used it as a base to do some coast path walking and also went over to Greenway, summoning the ferry by ringing the bell at Dittisham 'with gusto'! Very enjoyable meal at The Bear and Blacksmith and an excellent curry, when everything else seemed to be closed on a Sunday night, at Maha-Bharat in Kingsbridge. We took some pods for the Nespresso machine which made good coffee. There is now a coat rack which is useful. Towels are possibly the best I have ever had anywhere.

Really nothing but if you normally sleep with blackout blinds, like me, just pack an eye mask as there are venetian blinds.

"A great spot to base yourself when exploring South Devon"

8.0

Good directions from Laura on what to put into the SatNav to find the place. A packet of biscuits and a bottle of milk in the fridge are a welcome touch. The place is lovely, peaceful, comfortably and cosily set out and I enjoyed my limited time there. It's in a great location, surprisingly close to a large Tescos and with easy access to many of the hot-spots in South Devon. Some reviews comment on the country lanes - yes - the lanes are narrow but if you're driving around this part of the UK, you have to accept this and get used to it. I didn't find the lanes leading to The Stables any more narrow than the lanes encountered in the previous 10 days of my Dorset & Devon road trip.

I had trouble locating the router on the first day, and then had difficulties with very poor connectivity on the 2nd and 3rd day. A cheat sheet for guests on how to reset the router would be useful to get as part of the check-in information as I couldn't access Laura's contact number (because I couldn't access my emails nor Booking.Com due to there being no WiFi) and I didn't want to disturb anyone in the farm house next door. For a solo traveller, it isn't value for money but for a couple, it definitely it is. Plus there is a large double and a single bed so split across 2-3 travellers, it would be great value. Having said that, I have no regrets about having paid what I paid.

"A wonderful peaceful haven."

10.0

Very spacious rooms, lovely quiet location in a beautiful part of Devon. Close to unspoilt beaches and nature reserves.

The lanes are very narrow, you have to drive very carefully.
