Dell View Cottage

The cottage was cosy and we loved the log burner. Comfy beds, and all very clean. Very quiet, especially at night, there was not a sound. The location was convenient for us with family in the area. We walked to the Royal Oak for a meal one day which I would recommend. Overall the property was good value.

Could do with a few bits of maintenance. The outside light and hallway light don't work so it was very dark outside. The main bedroom radiator needs fixing. A bigger fridge would be useful especially if staying for a week. The kitchen was well-equipped but a couple of plastic bowls/ serving dishes would be useful. Also whilst you can take dogs, as the cottage is right on the road there is nowhere to let the dog out without putting a lead on.

It was freezing cold on arrival and took 12hrs to warm place up. Upstairs main bedroom radiator didn’t work.

Lovely views, very quiet but with easy access to Alton towers and local Pubs, clean and tidy.

Beautiful little cottage in an ideal location for trips like Alton Towers and local walks (30mins to some gorgeous Peak District trails). Clean, cosy, comfortable!

Great location, close to the local town and Alton towers! Hosts made themselves available with phone numbers and messages via the app whilst leaving us to a comfortable stay.

Could have been a little cleaner but wasn't bad at all. one of the nicer air bnb's we have stayed at! the kettle was full of limescale and unusable, that was our only disappointment.

Freezing cold front bedroom, in desperate need of a makeover and tidy outside, paint peeling, not clean, lots of dust under bed and radiators, bed linen smelt damp as was dried in the garage , completely overpriced for what it was.

Ideal location for walks around peak district. Even though there is no outside area for dogs there are plenty of walks to do in the area.

We loved the location of the property very much. It was very calm and quiet. Also, it is in Mayfield and just in the road opposite the property we could find cottages and farm houses that were built in 1600s and 1700s. The property itself is a pretty old one and we just loved the classic nature of it. I have seen few reviews talking about finding the location for the first time and issues with car parking. We were able to find the property easily as we saw the cottage ins maps in street view well in advance. And we own an MPV and it was quite comfortable to park it for two nights. Also there are some spaces available along the road, near cemetery etc., Living room was very good with a very nice fireplace.

The toaster in kitchen was not clean. Bread crumbs were also shattered near the toaster which was not cleaned. There could have been kitchen rolls, tea towels etc., in the kitchen. We carry those wherever we go and hence it was not a problem. Bathroom could have been better particularly the bath itself which was not easy to get into particularly for my pregnant wife and elderly mother in law. But these things did not affect our stay at all. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend to our friends.
