Aintree Lodge - Hot Tub - Northumberland

The lodge was lovely and clean, nice and quiet location. Hot tub was a bonus. Beds were very comfortable . Very central for visiting places. Good correspondence with Lauren

The view from the lodge was lovely, and it was very peaceful.

The beds were extremely uncomfortable, so I had to go and buy a mattress toppers in order to try and get some sleep. . On moving the lounge table there was food underneath from previous occupants, generally felt like it needed a good clean. We had no water on the second morning. The owner did reply promptly to our message to let us know when it was to be back on. We lost electricity several times , and had to keep running outside to flip the fuse box, not the most relaxing thing to have to keep doing. Again the owner replied promptly and told us what to do. But you shouldn't have to be doing this. Clearly an issue with the electrics. The grill pan was not the right size and took forever to grill anything as it could not be raised up closer to the grill. Needs a good clean and some maintenance. Didn't try the hot tub as the area around was not private, the next door lodge could look straight in.

It wasn’t very clean crockery chipped I had to clean floors on arrival the hot tub needs maintenance headrests on the steps also could have been a welcome pack as a touch as many others do it’s not very good for dogs as if you open the doors they can run out into park as no gates on veranda

The property was in a brilliant location with a nice kids park and nice grounds to walk/ cycle round in. There was easy access to the A1, the beach, restaurants, a supermarket and the local towns. There was lots to see and explore! The property had a nice big hot tub. The inside of the property was modern and had good amenities/ facilities that worked. The free standing bath was a real treat. The fact that towels were provided was helpful! Loved the fire and the big tele- which included Netflix. The sofas were comfy and blankets for outside were provided which was a nice touch. Basics such as toilet rolls, hand soap, foil, coffee, cleaning supplies were provided which was handy as you don’t always want to buy loads of stuff for a few nights stay. Beds were comfy. The property felt homely and inviting.

The hot tub needed a veranda as when it rained, we couldn’t use it. The hot tub also had 3 of the head rests missing so these could do with replacing. It would be ideal to have the hot tub leading out from French doors so you can just get back inside quickly- but this wasn’t a major issue as we just took towels with us! The bed in the main bedroom needed to be a king size really as it was small for 2 adults and not what we are used to. The property was quite clean but we did notice some dog hairs/ dust etc on the floor/ skirting boards which we just wiped down. Some of the towels/ bedding did have a dog smell but some of the others felt clean and smelt fresh. There wasn’t a bar on site within what we felt was a reasonable walking distance… but that was more the site rather than the property.

The property was perfect. It was spotless and the hot tub was amazing. We will definitely be returning

Everything about the lodge was perfect. So clean, lovely decor. The shower was gorgeous, felt like you were in an apartment not a lodge!

Nothing to do with the lodge itself but you need to book taxis well in advance if you want to go to the local pubs and restaurants for a drink. They are not the cheapest as they come from Alnwick or Morpeth. Talking at least £40 return to Longframlington 😬
