Poppy at Oakdene Forest Park

We reported a problem with boiler. The owner came to fix it promptly. Owner offered alternate accommodation for our next stay but we weren't happy to accept.

Due to boiler being off it was freezing cold. Owner fixed it promptly but the property didn't heat up very quickly so we were freezing all night. The property had a horrendous smell of damp, mould, rot. This lingered on our clothes after we left and was quite upsetting. There was a dirty plate with sweets left on it from previous occupant in bedroom drawer. We were so upset we left half way through our first stay and we cancelled our following stay due to the conditions and were very unhappy not to get our money back. This is inline with booking.com policy, but the accommodation was not adequate and I feel very strongly we should have received a full refund. There was a hole in the floor of the bathroom and the decking was dirty and outdoor furniture broken.

Easy and helpful communication. Very cosy, clean place. Heating was left on beforehand to welcome us. Swimming pool and games area are great.

Spa was closed. Food in the restaurant area was limited (both probably because we went on winter time)

It was clean and well maintained

Other visitors used the area as a turnaround for their cars throughout the night, the wasps that were always on the decking area there must have been a nest somewhere. It is what it is, but the lack of human interaction nowadays at places you get no personal touches and I know I chose it, but still I was paying City centre prices for out of town location. Tv in double room didn't work.

Location good.

Not cleaned . Just skimmed. Finger marks on touchpoints, crumbs in oven, dirty used frying in the cupboard!!! Mould and a bug in the fridge seal , dirty cutlery. Alternative property similar issues, crumbs, ripped material on door. Outside furniture holes and cushions on floor. Disgusting. My child with complex needs had a meltdown and refused to enter due to the low standard of cleanliness and changes. The cleaner was not bothered and blamed someone else. We lost our break and the owner will not refund. I am appalled. Although offered another van my child was inconsolable and will never go in a caravan again.

The property is in a great location. Oakdene is close to the areas we love to visit and the caravan is situated in a quiet area of the park.

I have booked this property many times in the past, unfortunately this time it seemed like it hadn’t been cleaned at all. there was a false nail on the bedside table along with coffee cup stains, long black hairs on the pillow and the dining table. crisps on the bedroom carpet too. there were only 2 bowls which made it difficult for a family of 4 come breakfast time. I went to use the washing machine, it would not work and there were clothes already in there from the previous visitor. there was also a blood stain on the bedsheet of one of the single beds. The bin handle was dirty also.
