The Old Coach House

A beautiful, characterful property tucked away in the countryside. Very clean and cozy, perfect for a remote getaway.

The only downside to being so remote is the country lanes you have to travel down to get to the property. This wasn’t too bad though as traffic is almost non existent and there are lots of passing places.

Loved the peace and quiet and the birdsong. Cottage was comfortable and provided most things we needed for a few nights away. Local pub was very friendly and good food.

Shower was beautiful but the temperature wouldn't regulate and was either far too hot or freezing cold. Outside space was a waste of time as the tiny space was just outside the front of the cottage, furniture was extremely dirty and the space was used as turning space for most cars in the village so not pleasant to sit.

Lovely roomy cottage with everything you need and more. Location is exactly what we wanted. Great pub that we used every night for excellent food.

The only thing was that the outside space could do with tidying up. Pots full of weeds which was a shame to see outside such a lovely place

Beautiful converted barn tastefully presented. Enjoyed the log fire on a chilly evening. Very comfy beds. Lovely tiny village with a popular and great pub. Central location between the coast and Dartmoor. We visited RHS Rosemoor, Bideford and Castle Drogo.

The surrounding roads are mainly single track - we got used to them and they weren't many cars. Road parking can be busy with cars for the pub - it says this in the blurb - we always found a spot. The barn is lovely and well equipped but lots of cobwebs and dusty corners. The frontage could do with a tidy - dead plants in pots.

Beautiful property in a lovely largely thatched village, and the pub was awesome, with great food.

Parking was sometimes a little tricky due to how popular the pub was. Country lanes to get there were really narrow, but also very quiet.

The cottage is in a lovely quiet country area. You definitely need a car, plenty of places to explore. There is part of the Tarka trail right outside the door. The birdsong is amazing. Great nights sleep in the comfy bed. Great pub a few steps away, serving good food.

The front of the property lacks a bit of colourful planting in the pots that are there would be lovely to enjoy the butterflies and bees. Unfortunately the housekeeper forgot to leave main door key in the lock, lucky she left the cottage open so we could get in, couldn't get the key until the next morning, apparently the neighbourhood don't use house keys, so someone told us. The owner was very apologetic when contacted and sounded sincere.

Great location, very peaceful sleepy village, good accommodation and facilities, including comfortable double bed, close to a nice pub serving excellent food.

You need to be prepared for a 10 mins drive along single track roads to reach property- but its worth it!
