The Old Coach House

Wonderful stay in the coach house. Very comfortable with everything you need - the umbrellas in the stand came in good use and were a thoughtful touch! Beautiful property and done to high standards. Pub just behind the property was great too, lovely food and decent portions.

The weather, but that can't be helped! It is very much in the middle of nowhere - plan your trip aroind vising a supermarket for essentials.

Everything was brilliant

House was charming and beds were very comfortable. Good communication throughout and loved that we could take our dog with us-he had a great time too!

There wasn’t a bath. Parking was a slight issue at times as we had to park the car far away.

A brilliant stay as always. We live locally and use the cottage as overflow for visiting friends and family. They have always been very happy and comfortable in the beautiful village.

We were told before the guests arrived that there was a problem with the hot water. This wasn't a big problem but the shower temperate was hard to control. I believe that it's been rectified now and the host did inform us before hand so it really wasn't an issue.

Lovely village cottage with pub food within walking distance. Friendly locals. Great shower, a comfortable bed, and plenty of power points. Great kitchen. Good location for sightseeing. Supportive owners who helped deal with a couple of problems.

No hot water in the bathroom sink and kitchen sink due to boiler issues. Had to boil water in a kettle for washing & washing up. Only one storage heater actually worked, so we struggled to stay warm on cold days. Access roads to the village are quite narrow. We would have given a score of 10 out of 10 if we hadn't had these problems.

The property was lovely and comfortable, all the modern amenities you could want. An excellent kitchen, comfy bed, and lovely bathroom. The lounge has a nice big sofa and a good TV, even a log fire if you fancy it. There's a second toilet/ washroom in the upstairs bedroom, so there's nothing lacking in the excellent facilities provided. Plenty of opportunities to walk along the 'Tarka Trail' just adjacent to the cottage. The grub at the local pub is ok and a nice selection of Beers, it's only a hundred yards walk from the cottage. We really enjoyed our stay of 6 nights, which we used as a base for visiting the many National Trust properties in Devon. Thank you Mark & Elaine for a very well presented property 👍

Please do not read this as a negative comment. We knew before we booked that there was no outdoor space like a rear or enclosed garden, but we worked around it. This may be an important consideration for renters, so as not to be disappointed with your choice when booking, bear this in mind. This didn't detract from this excellent and well looked after rental.
