"Quiet, clean, well maintained."

8.0

Location was great and the street felt safe and quiet. Property was clean and well maintained, and a good temperature which was also easy to adjust. We did not cook but I think easily could have as the kitchen was well supplied - there was even oil, salt and pepper! Host was very responsive to questions and easy to contact.

Parking was a bit hairy as it's a very narrow street with cars parked on either side. Need to be good at parallel parking. I'm glad we didn't have a bigger car. I think this is status quo in Norwich but coming from the states, it is unusual. Also expected for this type of house but unknown beforehand, the stairs were steep which was fine except one of our party was elderly and found the stairs daunting and I worried about balance. The smaller double bed dipped quite deeply in the middle and two occupants roll towards each other which was uncomfortable. The single bed was bumpy. The larger king size bed was fine.

"It was clean."

No breakfast.

Very steep stairs and the bathroom was downstairs at the back of the property. We wouldn’t have taken it had we known. It felt like something that had been done up as cheaply as possible.

"Best part of our stay was going back home!"

5.0

There were lovely little christmas decorations in the house.

Quite small cottage with very steep stairs that may not be suitable for families with little kids or for older people. The bed was a lousy one, was big but trembling as you turn from one side to the other especially if sharing with someone it was very very uncomfortable. When the heat started to work there was a disturbing noise coming from either the radiator or behind the walls in both bedrooms, it was very annoying. Bathroom was an old and cold one and very difficult to make warm. Hot water was not stable and very difficult to arrange. Kitchen was not well equipped, there were opened, pre-used oil, cacao, sugar, etc in the cupboards if you like to use! For bigger families the house is really small and would not be comfortable for more than 5 people. Nothing we liked about the location specifically, except a parking space available.

"Disappointing accommodation."

5.0

The heating and hot water were very efficient.

The house was marketed as 3 bedrooms but the 3rd on was a cupboard type room off the 2nd bedroom. We were 4 adults two of whom were brother and sister which was why we requested 3 bedrooms. We had to resort to using the sofa bed in the lounge area which was not ideal. Photos and description in marketing information did not make this clear. The wardrobe door was hanging by one hinge which made it dangerous. There were partly used toiletries left in the bathroom from previous guests, one of which was mouth wash!! These and partially used cooking items left in the kitchen should have been thrown away by "house keeping". There was a jar of marmalade that had grown a fur coat. This is unacceptable at any time but even more so post covid. The bathroom needs a good clean to remove mould from around the window, bath and taps. The toilet seat was loose and slid sideways.
