Jims Cottage

Lovely comfy cottage. The cottage was spotless. We really enjoyed staying there .. would love to return but fully booked up .Big thank you to Chris and Sally for making our stay so perfect .

There was not a thing we could fault in Jim's cottage .

No food provided, but cottage was well equipped and very comfortable. Excellent bed. Easy parking outside the cottage. Garden furniture.

Very cosy cottage with lovely garden. Great location to explore the wonderful North Norfolk coast.

It was a cosy, comfortable cottage and a great base/location from which to explore north Norfolk. The beds were so comfortable and the kitchen was modern and well equipped. The living room was especially cosy. We really liked the quaint atmosphere and character, and had a great stay. The garden is a really good size.

The only drawback for us was the shower, which was temperamental in that it would go from very hot to very cold a few times during a shower. It wasn’t possible to adjust the temperature to one which stayed constant all the way through.

Location and accommodation

Cosy cottage vibe, access to well maintained garden, well equipped. We could park outside and easily walk into nearby small town, which had shops, pubs, restaurants, take-aways etc. Good location for the wider discovery of area (with car). Easy communication with hosts (via Booking.com)

Towels not provided (not so much an issue for us as we were travelling by car but some of our party had travelled by train and needed to travel with minimum luggage).

We liked the location, it was a ten minute walk to the centre of Holt. The kitchen facilities were excellent.

The host should have mentioned the steep stairs and ground floor bathroom. The property wasn’t ready when we arrived so we contacted the host who discovered that the cleaners were delayed by a road traffic accident. However he failed to tell us when the property became ready so we were about an hour and a half late getting into the property. Parking was in the road and the space so limited that I could not park outside the property. The neighbours were not helpful with regard to this and I ended up parking opposite the property where my car was bombed by pigeons overnight. On subsequent evenings I parked elsewhere, which was not very convenient. The bathroom had no extractor fan fitted, so that the floor rapidly became damp after showering. We had to take our own towels, something we have never done before. They take up so much room in the luggage.
