Treacle Cottage - Central Ambleside

Treacle Cottage was homely and well equipped. It was clean, warm and comfortable. The location was perfect for the town and fell walking. It was all as promised, thank you.

The location and amenities. We stayed at the cottage with our dog and there was an enclosed garden and lots of walks near by.

The management company contacted us to let us know that a chimney sweep was coming to sweep the chimney during our stay. It’s not great that maintenance is being done when the cottage is occupied.

Lovely place well equipped gorgeous rooms.

Nothing all brilliant!

House is well equipped and suits a large group. Location is great for walks and into town centre.

We had some issues with the heating

The bedrooms were very comfortable

An outside broom to sweep the leaves off the steps outside. A Warning notice was in place about the slippery steps ileading to the lovely lawn.

Located perfectly to wander into Ambleside centre but far enough away to remain quiet. Spacious enough for a multi generation family of 10. Plenty of secure outdoor space for 2 dogs. En-suite rooms makes a big difference. Property has lots of character.

Exterior grounds need a good tidy up , especially as we go into the summer period . Fridge wasn’t very cold and bottle shelf broken which was a mild annoyance , 2nd drinks fridge would be ideal . Parking : just to clarify that unless you have very small cars , the space of suitable for 3 cars with care , not 4
