Butchers Cottage

The host made the logistics very easy. The property is well equipped, clean and in a great location: right in the village and with views of the river out the back. We are a family with 3 adult daughters and the 5 of us were very comfortable. We very much enjoyed sitting on the balcony in the evenings. The host sorted out our parking permit before we arrived so that was easy and we managed to park in the car park right opposite the property each time (only having to wait for a spot once).

Beautiful surroundings. Lovely and clean. Has everything you could possibly need for your stay. Beds comfy and linen great. Close to town centre and pretty walks. Good to have free parking nearby although hit and miss if you can get a space during the day Love the multiple places to sit outside Loved the cold kitchen as weather was very hot during our stay!

Not great for smaller children due to multiple levels in the cottage and open staircases. Outside not children friendly due to open staircases on balcony and pond in garden.

Location was superb, communication with the host was great, we had everything we needed and more for our long weekend, the terraces were so nice in the sunny weather, the free parking was so useful. Perfect!

Few cobwebs around but that was minor and made no effect on our stay at all.

Gostámos muito da localização e de nos sentirmos como se estivéssemos em casa! O acolhimento foi caloroso, a casa estava quente e até tínhamos uma garrafa de vinho e outros mimos à nossa espera. A Claire respondeu sempre no imediato às nossas mensagens e deixou-nos muito à vontade!

Great location, lovely walks & friendly shops & pubs to explore

The home was comfortable, clean, and had a large gracious kitchen, and wonderful amenities like more than enough blankets and pillows. The location couldn't be better! There was surprisingly very little road noise. The garden was gorgeous, in full bloom in June. The host was very responsive, and helped us sort the parking pass immediately. Games and a sweet little coloring table and books were really appreciated by the kids! Hot water and water pressure were excellent. :) Just a beautiful home base for us for 3 weeks.

The wifi was frustratingly inconsistent, and wouldn't be good enough for people trying to work from home.

Sometimes lack of hot water

Amazing view from the top balcony and master bedroom. Straight forward instructions for accessing home. Owners gifted us a nice box of biscuits and a bottle of wine. The kitchen is well equipped and well stocked with kitchen essentials. Very comfortable mattresses and great bedding. No parking for the house but the owners will give you up to two parking permits that alow you to park in any council owned car parks in the area, the closest of which being the Waterloo car park that is just down the road (about 70 yards).

As expected im older properties, the water pressure is abit low especially in the kitchen sink and shower. However, there is a dish washer that you can use to save having to do it by hand. This is a minor issue that will be out of the owners control so while I think its somthing to consider it shouldn't stop you from visiting this great property that is situated in such a scenic part of the world.

The cottage was lovely and cosy, accessible to everything. Thank you so much for the welcome wine.
