The wood burner and the internet.

Unfortunately we arrived at the property after a real damp spell and the cottage felt damp. It was very small and dark with rag wool rugs that made it feel very old fashioned. The settees were uncomfortable and the TV was tiny. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was ok. The kitchen area was awkward to work in and the sink area was difficult to put plate and cups to dry. The wood burner was lovely and the internet connection was great. Parking was hit and miss and we only found out about paying for parking on line when some one had added a comment to the cottage info. (£15 for 3 days instead of ££24 when you register with www.eastdevon.gov ) The cottage was over priced at £460 for 4 nights but it was half term so we understand that prices were high everywhere. If the owner was to update the cottage it could be a lovey place to stay but I am sorry to say I did not want to stay in a house from the 1950s.

Central location. Bedding & towels very good. Adequate kitchen/dining utensils (3 people max). Very cosy, bed comfortable & shower good.

Bathroom could do with some important improvements. Unusually uncomfortable sofas. Surprisingly noisy from passers by! Car park expensive.
