Elvington Cottage - Family-friendly cheerful house at the heart of the Cotswolds

There was enough rooms and bathrooms for everyone ! Comfy, cosy, warm and clean.

Lack of some bigger saucepans but kitchen was adequate.

The house is in need of repair, access to the property was difficult, due to a double security lock which was difficult to open. It needs to be explained to visitors prior to a stay It is a nice property, but needs some TLC

When we arrived the toilet flush was broken and the handle was on window sill. Also the showers even though plentiful were poor water pressure.

Great location! Really good space in the house for 8 people. Didn't feel cramped at all. Fridge was had all the necessities which was a really nice touch. Good amount of toilets/ showers for the amount of people that stayed. Big dining room table and seating area. Beds upstairs are really comfortable.

The 8th bed that was downstairs was a clicky clacky IKEA type bed that's not at the same level of comfort as upstairs. I didn't realise that one person would have to sleep downstairs and on that sort of bed which wasn't comfortable. The house felt a little bit run down, and not massively homely. But then great price for what it is!

Location, number of bedrooms and bathrooms, parking

Looked tired and well used. Stained/dirty walls needed a lick of paint, shower cubicles were old and tired, low pressure on showers, dishwasher didn’t work, radiator on full blast (in summer) and couldn’t turn off. Late check in 5:00pm/earlier check out 10:00am.

Key box , made it v easy for a group to come and go at different times

These are pointers and not concerns ! Kettle lid don’t close properly Showers were not great, poor direction and pressure . Water was v hot , could scold someone not able to safely manage . We had someone with dementia with us and had to be v careful for them . Washing up liquid and spray cleaners , we would have done cleaning as going along .
