The Old Farm

Larger than we thought, a fantastic old farm cottage (ex-cider barn) for both families or friends. Often places like this are made special by both the hosts and attention to detail. Liza was fantastic in making us feel welcome and going through all the features. Plus the special touches of delicious cupcakes on our arrival, milk, tea, coffee, sugar and other important cooking ingredients, plus cleaning essentials. With two young girls, they were immediately made at ease with plenty of toys, books and games. The jacuzzi was fantastic for everyone as well.

Very difficult to offer constructive feedback on anything. Knowing the children would wander downstairs early in the morning, a night light would help, but overall they slept very well.

Out in the countryside away from built up busy areas.

Absolutely lovely little cottage, perfect for our family of 4. Had everything we needed to cook and catered for our two young kids. Hot tub was a lovely touch, even in the snow! Speaking of the bad weather - the cottage was lovely and warm the whole time! Location is great, 20-30 minutes drive to Beechenhurst, Puzzlewood and other attractions. Hosts were lovely and even showed us around the farm so our toddler could meet the animals :)

Great host very helpful. The cottage was wonderful, very comfortable with everything we needed.

Bed was super comfortable and we loved the access to the farm animals. Lisa very kindly left fresh eggs, milk and muffins (+ oil, tea, coffee, sugar etc) for us. My kids loved the playground and the hot tub topped it all off. Great pub 8 mins walk and it has a playground.

my favorite place I've stayed so far. We were met by the lovely host Liza, and she gave us a little tour of the house and showed us how to use everything. There were some homemade muffins, fresh eggs from the farm and some beautiful fresh flowers on our arrival as well as milk, sugar and tea/coffee. The hosts were very flexible when it came to our arrival as i had some delays and other issues with my trains, so that was nice as it took the worry away of needing to get to the house on time. the house itself is absolutely beautiful. really clean and smelled lovely. so cosy. loved the fire in the lounge. had everything we needed and wanted. felt at home right away. the steam room shower and spa bath was amazing! such a wonderful touch of luxury. the beds were very comfortable with plenty of pillows and again, very clean and fresh. towels were lovely too. My friend made good use of the walks around the village and said how beautiful it was there. I haven't experienced such peace and quiet in such a long time coming from a very busy and noisy town. Thank you so much Liza and Matt! Wish i could have stayed longer. 10/10 All the best! John

Cosy, comfortable, period features, interesting layout, wonderful fire, hot tub was a great addition. Fully enclosed rear garden for our dog. Very comfortable bed, good kitchen facilities. Liza the perfect welcome, showed us around the property and gave us fresh eggs, milk and home made muffins and even a cake for our dog! Dog agility paddock was really great fun. So quiet, amazing (steep) walk through the fields to May Hill. Just 5 minutes walk from the Farmers Boy a great pub indeed. Perfect!
