The location was amazing! The walks were wonderful and the views just stunning. The cottage was super cute, with a good size kitchen, and super comfy living room. The beds were so snuggly, and very importantly the shower pressure was good! For those with young children (mine is 9), sound did not travel, so me and the hubby could watch TV down stairs, without worrying about waking her up. The property is close to local villages, so you can stock up on food, and its only a short trip into Bath proper. We had a brilliant time.

This is not really a negative, as we had a car that could manage the hills, and we were able to fit down all the country roads just fine, but if you have a larger car and worried about scratches, or a car that wasn't that powerful you might find it tricky with the hills and size of the roads getting to the cottage. The hosts gave good clear instructions on this in the welcome pack, with good alternative parking options, so we picked which car to take based on this and had no problems.

Quiet location (close to the village where my mother grew up). Good walking in the surrounding lanes. The Seven Stars pub at Winsley (but very busy on a Saturday night). Hartley farm shop. Not far from the Kennet & Avon canal, Dundas aqueduct and Angelfish cafe.

It would be good to bring some food supplies when first arriving. The cottage is two miles from the main road down narrow lanes. Not much traffic, but still needs care on the approach.

'To be, or not to be ...' in Conkwell. That is the question, easily answered when you arrive in the hamlet. The sheer beauty (and steepness!) of YewTree Cottage make your hair to stand on end. But that's enough of Shakespeare's thoughts. They say 'you can't choose your neighbours' but Stephanie and Bill who lovingly care for number 213 are the ideal hosts. Their visitors book is crammed with glowing accolades and we would encourage others to discover why.

Not having stayed longer.

A gorgeous house set in a beautiful area. The house met all of our needs, the beds were comfy and the decor and facilities were excellent.

Nothing

The cottage was very secluded and extremely peaceful. on arrival the cottage was very nice and warm and the welcome pack of wine and biscuits for tea was very nice. The close proximity to Bradford upon Avon made it great for exploring, getting the train (12 mins) into Bath was a breeze without all the dramas of having to park the car or having to using the park and ride.

This is not a negative by any means but a word of advice for anyone arriving later in the day its is advisable to pack enough food for the evening and breakfast. Whilst the shops are only a few miles down the road getting your bearings of the area is a must.
