The Davey Tower, Medieval Riverside House

Unfortunately the property was previously flooded and the property was damp. Back patio full of river mud. Condensation streaming down every window. Smell of damp pervaded the accommodation. Although I contacted the agent before arrival I did not receive an accurate description of the York flooding.

Amazing old building, full of character, history and charm. All the facilities you would need for a one night or two week stay. Beautifully decorated, warm and cosy. Keys weren’t in the lockbox, but phone was answered straight away and when we tried the other door sure enough they were there. Location is perfect, within walking distance to all the old town of York. Will recommend to all.

There is a washing machine but couldn’t find a clothes airier, minor complaint.

Bathroom Sink a little small- brushing my teeth was a bit of a challenge.

Area was great but did flood. But we were ok.

The extra bed in living area really uncomfortable. Paid extra and have a really bad back since stay. The place is lovely though.

Lovely place, great location, very easy to check-in, would definitely recommend and stay there again

Internal decor is very much period but it lacked finishing touches to make it a luxury property and it is in need of a renovation

Steps upto the property
