"Beautiful, homely and peaceful apartment close to centre."

Lovely apartment. Fantastic location, very clean and well presented. Felt very homely.

Nothing. It was perfect. Only thing is it was a bit chilly in the morning but that’s to be expected in a property of its age, can imagine it may be chilly in winter.

Wonderful location, delightful cosy house. Ideal base for exploring the city.

The windows are in such poor repair that some (bedroom is worst) cannot be opened as they are completely rotten and falling apart. These windows need replacing - I know it's expensive esp. in a listed building, but it has to be done. The decor was scruffy and tired elsewhere too, but it did not matter too much. The bathroom sink was quite challenging for cleaning teeth and shaving, being so small and under a shelf. We could not find a key for the other door, into Tower Place, so we could not use that way in.

"Wonderfully quirky historic property, will stay again."

Loved the history of the building and how it was part of the original defensive city walls. The property itself is full of character and charm. Super cosy with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Close to all the sights and amenities.

Wasn’t a problem for ourselves but anyone with mobility problems may struggle with stairs to both entrances to the property.

Fantastic quirky property, really comfortable bed and lovely to have separate lounge. Beautifully furnished. Loved being able to look out over the river and even though the river was flooded the property was still easily accessible. Location is really convenient to walk into the city.

There's no parking (although that seems to be quite common for York city centre). There is a car park a few minutes walk (£18/day when we were there).
