The Davey Tower, Medieval Riverside House

Quirky place,, beautiful views by the river, excellent location very private, right in the city but doesn't feel like your in the city. The river flooded it was so much fun feeding the ducks from the back gate. Hosts were available if needed. Good amenities.

Could do with a lick of paint and a refresh in bathroom and bedroom window needs replacing it had a huge gap in the bottom and when tried to lift frame came away.

Location close to centre of city. Lovely to sit in apartment and watch the river. Quirky old building. Really enjoyed a wonderful visit and would love to go back again.

Light fitting in the bedroom very small and not really in keeping with period. Also need a new toilet seat. However these things in no way detracted from a wonderful visit. Only small suggestions.

Picturesque location, in walking distance to local amenities and entertainment. Characteristic and historical building overlooking the River Rouse. Tasteful interiors, thoughtfully decorated and well-equipped.

Directions to the property should be updated. Simply put, there were no "red" boats to be seen. Change of management perhaps? LOL. FYI - the boats are now blue and white! Might we suggest directions for Davy Tower should reference the nearby landmarks, the boat-hire dock point, car-park and/or walking along the river side.

Couldn’t fault the location that’s the reason we chose the property including the history surrounding its location

The property could do with some immediate improvements, the bedroom window is very close to falling out , panes of glass are separated from the the severely weather timber frame .. the basement window was broken with glass pieces still imbedded in the frame and a poor attempt at hiding this with a half filled bag of compost!? This also causing concern with security to the property, as access to the basement gives direct access to the property via the basement staircase and door at the top was NOT secured and couldn’t be secured .. .. was quite concerned also about Rat droppings visible in the kitchen cupboard where cleaning / maintenance tools were thrown .. garden could have done with some basic maintenance to make it more desirable to sit outside .. very poor

The communication with the property was poor. The instructions said look for red boats. We looked for 1.5 hours there was no red boats. They are now blue and because it was a sunny day there we all out being used. I tried to call the property to say we couldn't locate where the property was but no one ever got back to me. I also sent a couple of emails with questions still no reply
