It was dirty and dangerous. The floors obviously had not been vacumed downstairs as we picked up EIGHT small chards of glass both on lounge carpets and kitchen floor. One piece was 2.5cms in the kitchen. We are barefooted and had we not spotted the bits of glass in the sunlight one of us would have had to attend hospital. The cups and cutlery had not been cleaned properly and the hob stopped working. Upstairs there was dust and debris on the floors and the bed linen was dirty.....it had obviously not been changed from the last guests .

Fabulous that you also get a parking permit with the property as Whitby can be difficult to par so that is a great bonus! The host was very informative and kept us updated from start to finish, lovely location and within easy walking distance of everywhere in Whitby.

We had the best time ever staying here, the cottage was beautiful, had everything we needed to stay, we even extended our trip by an extra day through the host and he was super about everything, we will definitely be returning here.

Great location but ne aware parking is not at the accommodation you have to drop your bags and walk about 1/2 mile. Great for the town and beach though but still very quiet on a night.

Location and functionality. Perfectly adequate, warm and cosy. Plenty of plug sockets in sitting room and bedrooms. The host kept in touch which was reassuring .. especially preempting our queries re locating the property (which is behind a shopping street) and parking to load. Having free parking was good though it was some distance away (about 15 mins for me) and uphill.

For us the stairs ( my husband is ninety and not very mobile) and the bare uneven, stripped, and varnished floorboards which could be slippy. It was more old style holiday let than bijou but our teenage grandchildren loved it. I was so pleased to find somewhere in Whitby itself that was central and at a price we could afford I didn’t read the reviews, some of which alarmed me and made me uneasy about having booked. My fears were unwarranted. The stairs were manageable but need caution as they are steep, un carpeted and there is a slight bend. The cottage was not damp or cold. It suited us very well and we had a lovely stay.

Great location....right in the heart of Whitby... remarkably very quiet... parking slot was at the top of the hill, but very handy. Owners were a phone call away. Lot's of amenities on your doorstep.

Not really a bad thing... recommendation... settees are tired and could do with being replaced...side table would have been good.
