"Well-appointed, spacious conversion"

Friendly contact with host by email, well-appointed spacious, conversion, comfortable, three good TVs, enclosed garden, dog-friendly. Easy access to main roads.

Some guests might be bothered by road noise if windows needed to be open on summer nights. Shower is over bath which might not suit everyone. Neither of these spoiled our stay.

"Comfortable stay, just what we needed for our short trip to Durham."

Comfortable and homely cottage. Clean with comfortable bedrooms and great kitchen and living areas for the family.

Motorway noise outside, although it wasn't bad inside the house.

"Lovely cosy and spacious getaway"

The cottage was lovely and cosy, and very spacious. The kitchen was fairly well equipped and we were thankful for a highchair and stair gate. It was a useful location for us to get into Durham and the surrounding areas. We were worried when we first arrived about how close the main road was and if we would be disturbed by the traffic, but we didn't notice the noise once inside. Loved the big TV! We'd recommend this place and would be happy to stay again.

There were a few bits and bobs that needed a bit of attention (broken tap handle, missing light bulbs) but the owner was aware and had arranged for these to be sorted before our stay (but unfortunately they hadn't been and she was away so wasn't able to check). They didn't hinder our stay though. There were also a few bits in drawers that I assume had been left from previous guests, which is worth noting if you have a little one - batteries, marbles etc. wouldn't be a problem if we didn't have a toddler with us, but a quick sweep of all the cupboards was needed to make sure no little exploring fingers got hold of them! The twin beds were comfortable and soft with a mattress topper, we found the beds in the main room a bit hard and uncomfortable.

Comfortable, well-equipped and nicely furnished accommodation. Warm and spacious with the advantage of 2 bathrooms. Great enclosed garden for the dog and easy parking.

The shower in the downstairs bathroom was a little tight.

Spacious , clean property with excellent facilities . Really appreciated milk and tea / coffee on arrival . Good location for access to attractions in area

The only thing I could think of was that it needed towel rails to dry towels . Everything else was perfect
