Lovely quiet location with everything you need for a selfcatering break

Unable to make phone calls due to poor network seevice (but there is a telephone box onsite and free wifi in the accomodation) Pillows were fairly hard

Beautifully furnished and decorated throughout, would be happy to live there permanently, gorgeous setting overlooking a picturesque lake.. excellent touch Christmas tree lit on a dark arrival, I will stay again 2026.

Not quite a ten was the en-suite shower. Took safest to set temperature, low pressure needs a pump and tray tired stained. Health and safety no grab handle exiting deep step down should wet floor/mat slip I didn’t feel confident each time as I have a weak ankle.

The location, property, facilities, cleanliness and comfort were fantastic. Looking out on the lake in a morning, rain or shine was so peaceful. We are already looking to book again for next year.

It’s the first time we had been to Darwin lake - yet we love Matlock and surrounding area . The property was modern , yet traditional looking , tastefully decorated , with a touch of luxary & class . Very clean , fresh smelling . Offered most of the things we needed for a self - catering stay . The staff went above and beyond constantly, all very friendly , helpful and informative ! Absolutely lovely staff ! very , Very impressed overall

Only a few things which could have improved stay slightly - no tv in bedrooms- yet clearly had been before as aerial sockets etc . The hob didnt work for a couple of days - until we googled it -thrm asked , stainless steel saucepans were provided which didn’t work , had to be black Teflon type ones , but staff soon bought us new ones over and sorted . Their was never a phone signal on my mobile - on site was a retro red phone box , it had a dial tone etc - but did not work when I wanted to call my elderly parents through my holiday - would be nice if a pay phone actually available to visitors etc as phone signals are not great on the complex . Apart from this little things - our stay was most enjoyable and we look forward to coming back next year ! Thankyou all so much !
