Somersal Cottages

The home was absolutely stunning. Very spacious.

The only thing I would maybe change is when we booked it states in facilities hot tub so assuming it comes with a hot tub. Only several weeks after booking I discovered it is an additional charge for that.

We go away every year as a group of 4 or 5 families - trying to find somewhere to suit our needs (size & location) is always a challenge, but finding Somersal Cottages made it easy! The property (The Granary) was in an idyllic location. There was sufficient parking and the kitchen was well stocked with more than enough crockery/cutlery etc that we didn't have to put the dishwasher on after each meal. Large American style fridge/freezer & separate tall fridge allowed plenty of storage. The pool table was a very welcome addition & the kids made good use of it. All the bedrooms were a good size and extra beds easy to use. The host was very quick to reply to any questions/queries that we had. We've just booked a return visit for next year.

Plenty of space and lovely surroundings

Where it was big and spacious. Kitchen equipped excellently.

No where to put things in the bathrooms upstairs like shelves and no where in some to put wet towels.

Warm and cozy clean and well stocked for cooking and eating for big parties. Sweets and basics were a nice touch.

Not much it was great for us. More prominent instructions for the oven would have been useful. A layout plan in advance would have helped because the room off the lounge isn’t ideal but luckily not all our guests were staying the full time. Opportunity to choose which property suits best would be great too

Nice quiet rural location and spacious accommodation

Property needs to be better maintained. Some radiators didn't work and hot water to some showers was intermittent. Some internal doors required easing and the dishwasher was temperamental. Decor and internal furnishings in some rooms is looking a bit tired.

The facilities were outstanding, as was the location. The whole family loved this property near to Alton Towers. We will definitely be booking again.
