The Hut by the River

Cosy well equipped hut. Loved the wood stove. Great location convenient to York. Excellent recommendations from the host.

Everything ,the hut is very beautiful,cosy and comfortable,the bed is super comfortable great shower.the views from the hut are stunning over looking the river ouse.

Everything, the area was beautiful and Anna was so lovely and helpful.

We arrived home today from a 2night stay at the hut this weekend. The information given made it a really easy process to find the hut, check in and check out :) The hut over looks the river, I spent alot of the weekend waving to the boats going past and had a giggle watching the party boats go past in the evening. We got an Uber into York on Saturday morning which cost around £8 and got a local taxi back from the taxi rank in York. Was a very easy route getting in and out of the centre and we had a wonderful day. We also used the little shop opposite which had wonderful fresh food and some essential bits. The sunset if you get a clear night is stunning. The hut has everything you need. Enough stuff to prepare a light snack and hot drink so important to remember to plan what and where to have a full meal. The hut was very clean and the bed was very comfy. You are very close to the hosts home so occasionally I was wondering if we where being a bit loud whilst sat out as we didn't want to cause any disruption to Anna or the neighbours so that was always in the back of my mind. Overall it was a perfect weekend away for my husband and I as a weekend away once a year without the kids. It was a weekend well spent and would return in the future.

We had beautiful weather this weekend but I found it very difficult sitting on the chairs for a long period of time and kept having to walk around or sit on the bed for a bit more comfort. It would of been lovely to of had more comfortable seating outside. For the purpose of it though it was absolutely fine - I just enjoy being outside alot so would of liked to of been more comfortable.. this is only if I was to be super picky though. Thank you so much for having us.

Cosy little place to stay. In a nice quiet area which was relaxing after a busy day exploring York. The host was lovely and always greeted us with a friendly smile. The hut was clean and well cared for too.

The bed was a little uncomfortable, very hard pillows. The path leading to the hut was quite overrun with stinging nettles and mosquitos. The parking wasn't great as it was on a tiny street where we had to park far away and walk to be able to get there.
