The Hut by the River

Location, right by the River Ouse was stunning, and close enough to the City of York to get to by bus or even walk. A very quirky shepherds purse which had everything we needed, it was exactly what my husband and I wanted and it exceeded our expectations. Would go again in a heartbeat. The owner has done a fabulous job with attention to detail.

How easy the Hut was to find with the instructions given! We had an amazing stay.

This is a beautiful place to stay. The property was clean with great facilities. It also has cute touches such as fairy lights and a little table outside so you can take in the view with a cup of tea. This is a really special little place which we absolutely loved 😊

Lovely and deceptively spacious hut, with idyllic views and very comfy bed and bedding. The local area is beautiful - we walked across to Bishopthorpe and stopped for a coffee and sausage bap there, then went for a cuppa at the cafe at the marina which was lovely too. The little shop did nice cakes. The village pub also nice to stop for a pint. Fantastic host with first class communication. We loved it!

The shower wasn’t overly powerful

Location was excellent, we commuted to and from York city centre by the number 42 bus. The bus stop is right outside the property and the travel time was approximately 18 minutes (£2 each). The journey back is from York Piccadilly bus stop (where it drops you off) . So easy. Shopping Outlet village just 11 minutes away too! The property is very quiet as the village is. There is one village pub which we visited every night once off the bus and there is a village shop right outside the property too. The Hut is gorgeous, clean and modern with everything you need (including fresh milk in the fridge) Wood burner is great and we had a mass supply from the little shed outside the Hut. Very cosy inside (too hot sometimes, even in December!) The river was high when we stayed but didn’t hinder.

The shower is not powerful at all and is hard to regulate the temperature.

Gorgeous little property right on the waterfront. Good amenities (kettle, toaster, fridge) and delightful stay!
