Very kind and helpful family. Homemade food was rich and great. Location is in a quiet area very near the river. They arrange for everything we wished for. Room was simple but clean and rather comfy.

Sajjayam's family are awesome people. They made my two days at their home a remarkable experience. Always helpful, always ready to give good advice or to assist with my queries. The house is clean, the room I stayed in is spacious, and I had my own bathroom. The mother'cooking was really outstanding. Every meal was a pleasant surprise, an introduction to South Indian and Munro's cooking. Sajjayam's took me around the island on his bike, and suggested activities (Koivila ferry, boating, walks) to enrich my experience of Munro island. He knows his island very well and is well attuned to his visitors' needs. I was also very fond of my conversations with Kartika, the family's daughter. In short, I can only recommend this homestay for a rewarding two days' rest, and an enriching experience in Kerala's backwaters.

Really attentive and kind hosts who made you feel like part of the family. Home cooked food brought in to our homestay every day for a great price, and they catered to the needs of less spice and no fish! (There are few restaurants or cafes). They organised a boat tour with the other couple we stayed with, and he took us sightseeing on the first day telling us lots about the place. Even offered to sweep floors in our room during our stay, and the room was big and very clean. Helped us organise our train away and dropped us off at the station, for free! Also bought medicine for an upset stomach! Beautiful serene location. Prepare to be well cared for if you stay here! It's a very intimate setting.

If you're looking for an authentic experience, you should definitely go to Munroe Island. It's a very beautiful and peaceful place. I enjoyed my stay at Valiyath Holidays with the family. They are very friendly and make everything to make you feel confortable. I had good talks with Karthika who speaks very well english and I learned a lot about indian culture. Also, the food they served was really good. The boat trip was really nice and they provided me a bycicle, which was nice to discover the island.
