Ivythorpe Coach House

A stone house that has been beautifully modernized to be comfortable but still retains its charm. The house is set in a small village right outside of Bath away from anything touristy, and well connected to Bath by train (5minutes by foot) which runs every 30 minutes or so. There is a good grocery and cafe with tasty treats in walking distance so you get a bit of both - a convenient living and beautiful countryside. Especially liked the floor heating and carpet. Shower was hot and strong, plenty of towels and crisp linen.

Everything was good on arrival, except for dishes were not clean (bits of food stuck to it) and the dishwasher filter needed cleaning. It would have been better to check for stains etc before arrival as the carpet stain pointed out could not have been ours as I didn’t allow any food beyond the dining table during our stay.

Wonderful cottage, super responsive service by Selina and a great location for walks or travelling into Bath. Despite the beds we had a lovely stay relaxing with the family.

very welcoming comfortable and clean and lovely basket of goodies to help start the stay. Easy access to station and Bath and local inn was friendly with good food. Host was very helpful in providing extra linen when we ended up as more than originally booked for.

I hadn’t understood that both bathrooms were fully en-suite so a little tricky for those sleeping on the sofa bed.

The property was simply furnished but very comfortable. Selina was very responsive and quick answer any questions, a great host. The village is very picturesque, and the property is a short walk to the local pub and train station, making it the perfect location for a day trip into Bath Christmas Market.

This is an exceptional place, very clean and comfortable with great facilities. The beds / linen are very comfortable and even the sofa bed gave a good night’s sleep. Kitchen had everything needed, and the decor was of a high standard. Having a welcome basket with a few necessaries in was a really nice touch, as was Selina coming over to check we had everything we needed and to answer any questions. Freshford is a lovely little village with a very good good pub and a train station 5 minutes away. We will certainly try to stay here again the next time we visit our daughter at Bath University.
