I really loved the Property and felt like a Home. It was a dreamy place to stay. Staff was so attentive and helpful.

A nice building with a nice garden, furnished with heavy English furniture. You can see that they pay attention to the decoration. Clean. Welcoming staff, who do everything to make the guests happy. I would especially mention Dinesh. The dinners they cooked especially for us were very delicious When you enter, there is a strong smell of something old. It is cold in Ooty and the ceiling is very high, it is cold in the rooms. There is only a noisy and unpleasant smelling stove to heat it. The room has a very high round window and curtains that cannot dim the light. It is only dark at night. We were given a bedroom unit, two additional rooms one after the other, which we do not need, and the bathroom. To go to the bathroom, you have to go through the two empty rooms. Not comfortable. The bathroom have an unpleasant smell. Very old towels. The taps are hard and you cannot adjust the water to the required temperature - either hot or cold. The place is peaceful, but there is a group of dogs that guard the property that barked for hours at night. It was really impossible to sleep. There was also gardening work with a noisy saw during the rest hours and it was disturbing. No bottles of mineral water were provided, only a jug of water

Traditional colonial bungalow. Like stepping back in time. Helpful staff. Got up at 5.30pm to make us breakfast when we had to leave early. Also arranged driver for us to get to the airport and for a tour of the neighbourhood.

Wifi a bit dodgy but was sorted in the end. Some confusion about mealtimes. Too far to walk to the main attractions.

Charming ex colonial residence. Spacious and comfortable room. Great breakfast. Lovely staff

Unfortunately we didn’t sleep well due to dogs barking (particularly from 0400-0530). Curtains let through the morning light (not helped by the fact our room was east facing). Thicker / darker curtains would have been good! We needed to take a taxi to a restaurant 5Km away and were encouraged to use a particular taxi driver. We didn’t as he quoted 1500 rupees to take us one way!!!!! We were expecting the fare to be (at most) 300 and ended up paying 200 rupees for a tuk tuk. Disappointing that Saffron Stays promotes this driver….. It was the most expensive place we’d stayed thus far on our trip and didn’t represent best value

The staff member Krishna was lovely and helpful. The Indian breakfasts were delicious.

The place was shambolic, run by a student and a few other non-professional hotel staff. There was no information on how to find anything or how anything worked. The fixtures and fittings were old and tired with stains on some of the chairs. It was barely clean and the bedding and towels were grey from overuse.
