The Holgate Hideaway with Hot Tub

This apartment has been very well thought out and beautifully furnished. There was everything you could think of provided to make your stay cosy and comfortable and it was spotless. The location is great, just a short walk to the main attractions of York. The hot tub was perfect for winding down after a day walking around the city. We had the electric trip one morning and couldn't locate the trip switches. We called the agency and straight away they got us up and running again! We would definitely recommend staying here. Thank you Holgate Hideaway!

Only criticisms I would make, is that we felt the hot tub had an odd smell to it after a few uses. I did speak to the agency after our stay and mentioned it as I wondered if it needed some attention, however, they assured me that it was regularly checked and cleaned after each stay etc (it did look clean..it was just a strange smell when the pump was activated.) They did also say that had we mentioned it during our stay they would have sent someone out straight away to look at it. So maybe if any one else experiences this make sure you contact the agency straight away. Another slightly negative point which isn't mentioned in the property listing is that directly above the property is what we think may be student accomodation. Not a massive problem, it's just that you do hear the odd alarm clock first thing in the morning and people walking up and down the stairs and furniture being moved...sounds you expect to hear in a hotel. Apart from this the property is very peaceful especially considering you're so close to the city and on a main road.

Location handy and near restaurant/take away/bars/city centre. Apartment quite nice Delighted didn't have to buy/bring essentials (cleaning/tea/coffee/salt/pepper) Games were nice touch. Pleased toweling robes for hot tub.

Location on main road (don't recall being mentioned) Bed sqeaky, extremely annoying. (Albiet comfortable enough) Hot water limited and unable to locate where the boiler/heater was. No terrestrial TV (not critical, but would have been nice to have). Not sure how clean water in hot tub was(!?)
