The Bishy, York city centre & free parking

Location was brilliant for our needs.. parking easy, straight outside.

Missing a couple of blinds in the bathrooms and from lounge window.. especially when using the bed sofa

Fin plass nært York sentrum, 20 min å gå. Litt slitt, men det tas igjen gjennom skjarm. To store dobbeltsenger, og de var meget behagelig å sove i. Godt utstyrt kjøkken.

Lovely house in a fabulous location and good facilities. Excellent parking. Great pubs, chippy, shops and curry house just around the corner. Great park nearby. Very quick walk into York itself, but we are big fans of the Bishopthorpe area now. Would definitely book again if visiting the area.

Expensive for two nights - but in fairness York is expensive in general. £200 deposit was pending for at least a week, which is a little bit annoying in the Summer Holidays, but this did drop off when I messaged the host. Shower and sink in the ensuite were a little temperamental.

The property is lovely and beds comfortable!

Considering we only stayed one night you’d think the house would have things like salt and pepper! Some coffee and a pint of milk! But it literally has nothing! So if you’re staying one night you’d have to take all this stuff with you which considering it was £125 ish you’d think having a few basics like tea coffee a pint of milk a bit of salt pepper in the kitchen cupboards wouldn’t be a huge ask! But alas it’s has non! I did find a couple of coffee pods for the coffee machine but as I don’t have one of these machine and it had no instructions also that means you’re only having one cup each if you do know how to use it!! Which I couldn’t use it. Also no hand wash in the bathrooms the bottles are there but no hand wash in either bathrooms!! Lacking in basics! If you’re offering the property on a nightly basis and it has a kitchen do the basics!! Stayed in other places and these things are always in the larder cupboard!

Location was very convenient, 15min walk to the city centre. Interior design was beautiful. Host was friendly and kind to check-up on us via chat.

Street was pretty narrow, so parking was a little challenging but not impossible. There was only one parking permit available so as per host’s suggestion, we parked our other car in another street for free nearby, so it worked out.

The stairs were very steep and would limit the people being able to use upstairs. Would have like some coffee or milk on arrival
