Fox Lodge with Hot Tub

The park itself was very nice – clean and well-maintained, with a peaceful atmosphere that's perfect for a walk. Although it’s not near the lake view, the surroundings are still relaxing. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially the reception team who were available when needed. There’s food and drinks available on-site, which is a convenient touch.

Unfortunately, the Lodge was a big disappointment. On arrival, it didn’t feel clean – there were visible cobwebs, dust on light fixtures, and stained bedsheets. I was told it would cost £60 to replace the sheets, which felt unreasonable, so I ended up washing them myself. There was a washing machine, but no dryer, so I had to air-dry everything on the radiator. The shower was blocked when we arrived, though maintenance came quickly to fix it. Only one hob on the cooker worked at first – the handyman later got it working by clearing out dust. The fridge door shelves for bottles were broken, and the bathroom radiator was rusty and dirty. Supplies were very limited – x1 toilet roll, 1 bin bags, 1dishwasher tablets, and 1 washer tab were provided. Luckily, I had brought my own, but this isn’t what you expect from a self-catering stay for 8 people. The outdoor furniture was damaged and unsafe – I even cut my hand on a torn chair. Several appliances also hadn’t been cleaned properly, including the dishwasher (which had a bad smell), the air fryer, and the microwave. I’ve stayed at this park before in a smaller Lodge and had a good experience, but this time – in a larger Lodge with family – I was really disappointed. It felt like very little effort was made to prepare the Lodge properly for guests.

The whole estate is clean and beautifully maintained. The lodge is spacious enough and the hot tub lovely. The kids loved watching bunnies and ducks walking around.

It was extremely hot at night without a/c and a lot of mosquitoes so we didn’t want to risk opening the windows too much. I would have liked to see shower gel, shampoo etc in the bathrooms for the money paid.

The lodge was beautiful and location was brilliant and do well appointed Was lovely and warm

Great location. Superb food at jjs ( on site restaurant). Hot hot tub. Spacious rooms.

Dishwasher but no dishwasher tablets. Fairy liquid provided but no dishcloths, sponges or tea towels .I have previously stayed at this golf and country club4 times and every time I’ve taken my own cloths etc but have never needed them as they were provided however this time I didn’t take any and ended up having to go out and buy them. I rented this lodge as it was an 8 berth( 1x double bed, 2 x twin rooms and a double sofa bed )as we were a booking of 6 adults, a baby and a toddler but there were only 6 chairs around the dining table and not enough cutlery for us all - only 5 knives and forks and 3 spoons! The radiators in the bathroom were very dirty and rusty- need replacing as they let the appearance down

Lack of cutlery, cups and glasses etc towel rails in both bathrooms need a massive upgrade

Lots of space , good layout and good location to allow family to scoot / have outdoor time

Disappointing that the property had been cleaned ( and the booking had a cleaning charge attached ) however the ceiling above the sink was stained , en-suite blinds all bent and broken and toilet button damaged - however biggest frustration was a vape from a previous guest was found by my 5 year old under his bed - somewhat dangerous

Our stay was brilliant, we was moved from fox lodge to an alternative lodge that was amazing we had a such a nice weekend. Will definitely be coming back.

I didnt book this lodge but was given this one after the original booking cancelled, but ut didnt disappoint in anyway. The lodge itself was spotless on arrival and the location was spot on as we had my elderly mum with us so she managed the walk from the restaurant and back no problem. I rang the reception on the morning of arrival and asked for a little extra special surprise of birthday balloons and they said yes without hesitation and it was all set up when we went in.

There wasn't anything wrong didnt like but found the oven to not work and the hoover. The oven wasn't a major issue as we ate at the restaurant on the evening and just got snacks instead for the day but the hoover ment wr couldn't tidy up as much as we would normally so so we apologise for that.
